Terri,
Students come first and customer service is key to their success.
Gerardo,
Application for accreditation is an exhaustive process. Best of luck!
Anette,
We are encouraged by your post and your sharing your thoughts.
Jason,
You have the institutional knowledge that is so valuable.
Alexander,
Start-up schools often have multiple roles that must be covered by personnel. What is important is that the services are provided to the students and administrative tasks are handled according to Commission rules.
Carl,
It is all in the details. Compliance requires attention to detail.
Kasandra,
This is exciting! Thank you for your post.
Kate,
Try adding conversations with faculty and program chairs. They love to share their thoughts and talk about their programs.
I would rate my knowledge at orange. I am discovering that I rarely refer to admissions documents. Only the period I'm recruiting my class and shortly after enrollment, do I refresh my knowledge.
I think taking the classes here and there, learning teaching styles, content, and watching the current students are key to institution knowledge!
Kristyn,
Wow! I am sure you will be glad to put everything you are learning in motion.
Daniela,
Learning opportunities are very important to keep compliant and knowledgeable.
I feel very knowledgeable about my institution - because we're a technical school I've been able to sit in on classes and get a first hand look at the process our students go through. I've been fortunate in that we are well organized and there is a detailed, step-by-step instruction on completing each task required of my position. Any and all information I may have questions about is easily accessible and I take advantage of it all the time.
We are very detail orientated when it come to enrollment. We have compliance training internally that we must complete and stay up to date with. It is very important to us that we give the correct information to our future students.
I know a lot about my institution like, admissions ans student services because i have a multitasking job of wearing many caps. It is a small institution. However,i have been more educated withe what i knew, as i do each exercise and quiz. This i will apply to the school and share my knowledge with other departments.
After going through the module, I have found a helpful hint. We at my school need to put descriptions along with the organization chart. As of know we just have titles and names. But I think it would be helpful to the students if we put along a brief description with the title.
Being that we are a very small school that offers only one program, and also I have been associated with this school since it began. I can safely say that I know everything there is to know about the school. I even took the course so i could have a better understanding of what the student would be learning and how they would be learning the information.
I find that it helps when explaining the student our training program.
Since we are in the application process to be recognized by the comission, I am relying on the most current policies until I'm told otherwise. Since it is the responsibility of the instructor to choose and fill a class, many department responsibilities are fielded by one person.
Since I am new, I still have a lot to learn about my institution. I am currently in an online training program and learning new information every day. I have been in this training program for 3 weeks and I will continue for another two weeks before attending an in person training for 4 days. I have already met with many different departments in my institution but I am most looking forward to sitting in a few classes in different programs and getting a firsthand experience.
