I actually believe that I am very knowledgeable about our institution. I have been employed for 19 years here. I have held positions ranging from receptionist to job placement development rep, bookkeeper, student records custodian, admissions rep, financial aid rep and now oversee all of the business offices within the school. Regular meetings are held with the Academic Division and Business Divisions in order to keep abreast of any changes or new regulations/requirements. We also evaluate programs regularly by student and alumni satisfactionsurveys as well as employer satisfaction surveys.

Cynthia,
You are becoming more well informed by the actions you are taking.

Jennifer,
Who does provide the placement information?

Rene,
Hands on involvement is very important. It helps keep it fresh.

I would rate my knowledge as 8 of 10. I've worked as an instructor and transitioned into administration. I've found that the combination of Academic knowledge and culture has helped in remembering the student experience from their viewpoint rather than my own. My weakest area is keeping up with the changing regulatory requirements affecting financial aid.

Jeff

As Admissions secretary I don't have access to as many things that reps do but in addition to reading the catalog and policies I have taken an on campus course and an online course. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not done so. The online course orientation and trying to get the right version of programs, browsers etc. gave me new insight into what the online student has to go through before they can even access their classes.

We are accredited by the ACICS to award an Occupational Associates degree in Golf Complex Operations & Management. I am aware of our transfer credit policy and never disclose placement rates.

I works for almost 5 years in this Institute. I have a meeting with the instructors every 2 weeks,
I attend to class once a month in different programs.
I discovered that while more you are involve in the institution operation more you are compromised with the student and prospective student to give them the right information

Yan,
Sounds like you have much to keep up with. Make sure you share your knowledge with the rest of your team and they will be on the road to compliance and success.

I think i should know everything about our institution in addition to knowledge of school accreditation and licensure. I am responsible for the administration of the Institute’s academic programs and the implementation of school policies that support academic quality. These duties include keeping abreast of all changes in law which might affect the academic program. Since I am incharge of student recruitment and the students’ admission process, I have to know both administrative and acadmeic policies and procedures. I also help write and revise the school publications, which should be consistant with our school mission and educational objective. I am familiar to offer various student servies, listed in this course.

Amanda,
It is important not to mislead. In asking others, you obtain the information that you need and learn in the process.

Imaidy,
Great communication opportunities provide a chance for everyone to learn and grow. Excellent idea.

Knowledge is the key. You can not expect a prospective student to come in and not ask questions. While I feel very knowlegable on my institution, there are always new things that come up. My institution holds regular meetings to keep us up to date on all changes. If I am unsure of the correct answer to a question, I find the best person to answer that students question. In the meantime I also learn something I didn't know prior.

Our school requires for all the staff participates in meetings to keep the information up dated, that way, all the departments know about all details and any new information that may emerged. Me, as an admission representative by participating in different seminars, I get the chance to enhance my knowledge not only in the admission department but also in other department as well.

Debbie,
I can feel your enthusiasm! That is what is so great about our sector. We change lives and in the process they change ours.

George,
Have you tried sitting in on a few classes? I was amazed at the experience and felt a renewed sense of the student experience.

I feel that I am knowledgeable about what my institution has to offer, but I also know that the learning never stops. Having, not only the correct information to share with prospective students about policies and procedures, but also presenting them with information about all aspects of attending our institution is the key to helping them make a decision that will change their lives. Spending the time to get to know the programs that we offer and meeting with the program managers and instructors has been a very successful tool for me. They are so passionate about what they do; you can’t help but to share in their enthusiasm and are then able to pass that along to the people you come in contact with.

I would rate my knowledge 7 out of 10. It is an increasingly hard task to stay up to date with policy and procedure details when accreditation comes into play. However, I find that regular meetings with all departments, good meeting mins, and great communication either in person, or via email tend to make staying up to date a lot more effective. When it comes to Program Info, I agree, the need to stay in contact with Instructors is a huge benefit. Plus, it is always nice to have something new to talk about to prospective students.

Courtney,
Education is a very dynamic environment. We are constantly learning new information and experiences.

Carolina,
Many students keep up with their admissions rep throughout their education and even beyond. You are their first link to the institution and it is important to keep that relationship going.
