We have monthly staff metings to go over any changes in rules and regulations as well as the focus of the future. How we can build and grow by doing everything the right way.

I continue to learn more about the education industry by taking advantage of the online resources and local workshops in my area. I also attend workshops through other colleges in the area as well as attending the Chamber University Series.

I also try to attend Career Fairs, Career Workshops and Career Counseling in order to improve our knowledge of what employment opportunities are potentially available to our graduates.

We have Friday training meetings and during these meetings we will receive program training. Each week will we will get training from each department to stay current and be informed as to what that program has been to. I looke forward to this training because it keeps us informed.

Samantha,
Meetings are important to keep current. Great job!

Connie,
Good news! Keep communication links strong.

We have weekly staff meetings, monthly all staff meetings, 1-1's with our Director of Admissions and additional training, such as this program!

Charles,
Excellent! Share your knowledge with others in the school.

Our institution will be making changes real soon that will facilitate more meetings in regards to changes that are happening around us, and that affect our daily duties as admins. Thanks to this course, I'm able to look at our compliance with a much keener eye for that type of detail!

Since this is a very small school and I am the only admissions representative, I must keep myself informed of all changes that apply to the school.

Stephanie,
You have a wide range of opportunities to keep you current. Taking minutes ensures everyone is on the same page.

We have several meetings that address these issues.

We hold a weekly meeting that is team wide to address standard issues and provide any pertinent updates on policies, procedures, and new information.

We take minutes, and then post those minutes from the meetings, along with any pertinent supporting material, ( Handouts, web links, etc... ) to a file share where all team members are able to access them for reference.

We also attend all CIE meetings to stay up to date on the activities of the Commission, and we check the CIE website, as well as the DOE website once a month for updates.

We attend all of the Workforce Board meetings in the regions where we are actively doing business, and work with our local one stop career centers weekly to update them on student progress and to get the latest information from them on any changes that could effect our students.

We also are part of a training vendor working group within our region that meets monthly to discuss issues and exchange best practices.

I believe the best way to stay current in my job is to have access to many learning opportunities. I am involved with multiple admissions organizations at the national and local level. It is important to not only stay current with in your own institution, but within the profession of higher education as things are always changing. Courses like this, webinars, list serves, groups, and conferences help me as a professional as well as benefit the University.

Elisabeth,
You have a great plan.

Jaida,
Meetings are an excellent opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Everyone learns!

Teresa,
I hope you continue to attend these meetings and have the opportunity to ask questions. Everyone will gain a deeper understanding.

Since we are a new institution, as the Program Director, I am planning to have weekly meetings and then monthly lunch and learn meetings to give updates to the staff. For myself, I plan to take more training from FAPSC and have the staff participate as well based on their position. I plan to view the CIE website for updates on a monthly basis.

We have meetings every tuesdays and we discuss about our activities, any new policies we need to know about, the start and keeping the team motivated.

I am a fairly new employee but I recently attended a program manager meeting and I found it to be extremely helpful. Not only did I get to put a name to face but I learned about our programs directly from the managers. I believe these meetings are a good resource for keeping up with changes in the programs.

I attend a weekly managers metting with all directors, I also attend a weekly meeting held by our corporate office.

Dabel,
Meetings and webinars are great opportunities to continue learning.
