By completing the enrollment agreement yourself, you can see what potential questions a new student would have. Having a complete understanding and knowledge of the form, you can answer questions accurately to aviod any confusion or misunderstanding.

Who would be the most proper person to sign the EA? May an Admissions Representative or Coordinator sign it?

andre,
The Department of Business and Professional Regulations covers the professional side of the student life. The Commission for Independent Education covers the regulatory side of school operations.

Thank you for enrolling today. Do you have any questions about tuition, other costs, books etc. I can contact the Florida Department of Proffesional regulations to asnwer any question you might have, that I am unsure about.

Yadira,
The refund policy in the enrollment agreement must match exactly with the catalog.

Joseph,

Fees are to be expressly stated, not hidden. This is part of Fair Consumer Practices.

Michael,
Your school is also under the guidance of the Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Services. You will want to add them to your notebook.

Patty Aronoff

Jay,
There are many people throughout the school that are there to assist.

Is very important that given a copy at the students. The most frequently questions is about the refund policies, I explain abouth this points for clarify any doubts.

I am well-versed in my school's Enrollment Agreement and take the time to go over it carefully with each student, but if they have any questions I can't answer, I can ask the Senior Admissions Rep, the Director of Education or the School Director. It's a team effort!

For me it's always the section of fees, some fees specify books, uniforms ex...And there's always that area of other fees. Or estimated fees.

The biggest question that comes up by the prospective student has to do with the medical requirements. Since we offer a fire and an EMT program, most students will either take one or the other and sometimes both. Both programs have very dirrerent medical requirements. 90% of those questions are answered by staff who do the enrolling. The remaining 10% of the unanswered questions will come to my office. Those questions usally are only to interrpet medical results and whether a student can enroll based upon the medical results.

Susan,

Great! This is why we love the forums for great ideas.

We did this at our last team meeting and it really enforced the value of thoroughly communicating to students the policies there to make them successful.

Vincent,
It is important that we give them time to read and formulate questions.

Vicky,

It is important to go over every aspect in the light that they have not seen this document before and are unfamiliar with the contents. Excellent point!

Ana,
The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract between the student and the school. When they sign the EA, they are stating they have read and received a copy of the catalog.

Patty Aronoff

Francisco,
They need to know the full breadth of the program they are entering. They also need to know about proposed graduation dates and any type of fees involved.

My university takes regulations very seriously. We are required to take training courses regularly. The Enrollment Agreement is very thorough. It reads like most legal documents and lays out what the student is agreeing to study with course numbers, credits per class, titles of courses, and a paragraph stating the student has been given access to an academic catalog with the link to that catalog. This paragraph goes into detail about what can be found in the catalog listing everything from completion requirements to cancellation and refund policies. The second page talks about minimun credits to graduate, transferability of credits, and when the enrollment agreement expires. Although it is not a very long document, it make a clear statement that more information is available. It lets the student know it is there responsibility to ask questions if anything is unclear. Student who read this agreement might ask about accreditation and cost which are not listed clearly. I would ask about the different versions and how often they change.

I really like this idea. Many times we are so use to seen this forms and we forget that students are not and they might feel intimidated to read and ask questions. I guess I will have questions about attendance policy.
