Dabel,
Checklists are a great addition to any process. Make sure that we have everything we need and we are following the process the same.

Prospective Students receive a packet that includes a step by step guide to the enrollment process and what documentation is required from them and by when.
Once the student has submitted their enrollment agreement we begin their student administrative file which includes a file log that we check off to confirm that all documentation has been received.
We use file logs for all of our student files it makes it easier to at an instant see everything that was is in the file and when it was submitted/entered.
I keep a checklist on my desk which is stuck to it and as I am filling out the enrollment agreement I just follow the steps
We are smaller school at the moment all of our students are cash paying; this simplifies the enrollment process. Once students successfully pass the entrance examination for the varying programs we go down the checklist and request items such as:
Drivers License
Social Security
HS Diploma/GED
Shot records
Letters of recommendation
Essay
And the likes of those in order to complete the file.
We have several steps here at our school which coincide with a student check list to ensure they are all met. Our check list includes some of the following:
Enrollment agreement
Program application
Immunization records
Physical
High School Diploma
Social Security
CPR certification
Registration payment
and more
I always create a checklist.
Check list is a great tool
We have a 7 step checklist that is easy for the students to understand and use during the admissions process. Some students may be confused throughout the admissions process, but using the checklist provides the student with guidance.
Valerie,
It is very important that the student file be completed in the order as prescribed by your school. This ensures that every applicant is following the same process.
Patty Aronoff
Asmir,
Check lists are a great way to follow compliance. They provide a quick audit of the file letting us know what is there and what is missing.
Patty Aronoff
Kayleigh,
Acceptance letters are an important part of the enrollment process. When we provide them an acceptance letter it ensures that the communication lines still continue. Plus there's nothing more exciting than getting such a letter in the mail.
Patty Aronoff
Marta,
Interesting! Do you require your students to take an assessment test for nursing prior to enrollment?
Patty Aronoff
A check list keeps us on track with completed registrations, since a prospective student has to be completely registered before financial aid can speak to them on a personal level. We require a completed registration form, copy of drivers license, copy of high school diploma, a 200 word entrance essay, and $75 registration fee. We also require that fafsa is filed 5-7 day prior to financial being able to speak to the prospective student.
We use a checklist in our school as well to get through the enrollment process. Starting with the application to testing and finally interview. There are other steps in between and after the interview. The goal of the check list is to have everything complete and in that particular order.
The list of enrollment is as following:
Once the student have been accepted to the program we ensure to send out a acceptance letter. We then make sure all the items are in her file to send off to financial aid so they can go over the program drops, dress code and etc.
First we give the students orientation we have them write a bit of history about themselves then we talk to them and see if the are ready to join our nursing program we make them sign and fill out the application and an enrollment agreement we make copies of the personal information such as DL,SS#, high school diploma and so on then we check to see if file is complete and then we send them to the Financial Aids office, that's are process.
Nicole,
We love checklists! They really do keep us organized.
Patty Aronoff
Elizabeth,
Checklists are a great way to maintain compliance. They give us an outline of what is in the folder and what is outstanding.

Checklists help us stay organized and on top of things
We have checklists for all of the courses at our school. We work with 4 applications for different programs and they do not all have the same requirements. The checklists are for our staff, a way to be sure we've gotten everything required with that application. It's also for the student, acts as a receipt of paperwork, tuition deadlines, etc...Once the application is complete, we have an internal checklist to follow for the paperwork trail. Seems cumbersome, but it helps maintain organization.
