Currently the institution utilizes Facebook as its form of social media to communicate with the student body but also to stay in contact with the alumni association. We are looking into LinkedIn and Twitter to also facilitate the communication with the student body due to the fact that social media is currently utilized by the majority of society and a great way to interact with prospective, current and student alumni.

Lissette,

I am not sure if anyone knows what the full potential of social media is. It's a brand-new territory that we are all embarking on. every day it changes and modifies.

Dominique,
It all depends on what the interest is. Your student achievements are passed on to all their friends and connections. That's the difference.

Patty Aronoff

Elizabeth,
Photos are such powerful tools when connecting on the Internet. The community can quickly see what's going on at your school based on the simple picture.

Patty Aronoff

Bishada,

Free advertisement! It's nice to be able to connect without having to write a check.

Patty Aronoff

Maybe,
It is! And it's fun. Social media makes it quick and easy to connect.

Patty Aronoff

Heather,

The Internet is a way to connect outside the local community. With multiple locations it does give opportunities for students to look outside the local area.

Patty Aronoff

Lisa,
It's quick and it's immediate. Many students have alerts when someone makes a posting.

Patty Aronoff

Dabel,

It is the communication link that many people run to. Make sure that your sites are current and provide solid information to the world at large.

Patty Aronoff

Robin,
And we love referrals! Having the social media sites can connect to others outside our student base. it is a great way to find potential candidates for enrollment.

Patty Aronoff

Joanna,
It is a great way to communicate! It does take time and effort in order to maintain the site but most of the students today are connected.

Patty Aronoff

Fabian,

Interesting! Social media is part of the culture today. When we involve our school we need to make sure we understand how social media works and how it connects with our students.

We utilize Social Media to post information affecting the profession our courses offer training in; job openings, industry information, changes to regulations affecting the profession, etc.

We also utilize it to post information about upcoming course offerings and post congratulatory remarks for current students and alumni.

Although, we utilize it, we have yet to use it to its fullest potential; it is something we continue to work on.

When we have different events like our open houses or information sessions we use facebook to send out invites and make people aware of the date and time of the event.

I manage our schools' social media marketing. I enjoy the disseminating information via social media. Although, I find there is a science to it that I have yet to master. We find that our posts go viral moreso when we most information about student accomplishments as oppose to program insight. Have anyone experience this as well?

We currently have a Facebook and Instagram page that promotes our institution. On Facebook me promote all courses that we have and any upcoming events to ensure we get students to enroll and get information. As for our Instagram page we advertise action shot photos so our prospect students can get an idea of what they will be experiencing if they enroll in our programs.

The social media is a great way to keep connected

Our university comprises of 3 campus locations across 3 different states. Although we all offer the same general degree programs, the campus or student culture in each location may differ. Social media is used to post photos and news about what is happening on each campus regularly. I think this helps prospective students learn more about our university as a whole, who we interact across locations, as well as how each location differs. A prospective student may be more attracted to a specific location as a result of what they see on social media or our website and I think that adds to the intention of guiding new students to the best fit for their educational goals.

I love them! Almost everyone is on Facebook and I have several students who communicate with me via inbox or facebook regardling school matters. It is useful, a great way to network and advertise to current students friends.

Social Media is an excellent way to communicate with the community and inform them of new events or programs offered at the school. Everyone goes and facebook & twitter. Very fast and easy to communicate.
