Our college is very emphatic about compliance and I always have been personally. I always want what I say to be be accurate and up to date.
Hi Lynn,
Yes, we have had several informative meetings about the changes. We have also changed a lot of the forms in our information packets. Many of the documents do have the noticable stickers to highlight new information. We have included several new website links for the prospective students.
We have added stickers as well. BMC - Cincinnati
My school has added costs, average loan debt, graduation/placement rates, ect. We have also become much morespecific on career paths quoting directly from US Dept Labor statistics on everthing.
The school that I work for has added a web site that perspective students and students alike can access in order to obtain student consummer information about the school such as graduation rate, career services placement rates and much more. I believe that it is truly a valuable addition and provides transparency to the consummer.
Yes, we have added some of the new laws to our company website as well as all employees recieved an email notification of the changes
We have training on a weekly basis regarding rules and regulations to stay current and up to date.
Training is a great way to stay current and allows you to reflect on certain pieces that you might have forgotten.
My institution has implemented training, new/revised documents and presentations as well as regular meeting to ensure all are up to speed.
Yes........We have had numerous meetings and training sessions about dialogue to use as well as the do's and don'ts of what to say in schools and homes
Do they follow up with written summarys for people who may miss a meeting and post all updates online for the representatives?
Yes we have training on a regular basis for all representatives as well as weekly updates from our managers.
Our Institute has Daily meetings with the recruiting team that convey any changes, additions.
The school I work for has updated the Student Handbook / College Catalogue top reflect the new rules and requirements
Absolutely. Our compliance training was pretty comprehensive before, but there are new references to a "Where to go for Student Consumer Information" web page everywhere, as well as comprehensive review and training. There's a new booklet added to our collateral, and tabs added to our previous websites. The response has been very strong, and pervasive. While it seems like overkill to the experienced among us, the effect has been the constant awareness that I'm sure was the point of the whole exercise. It's working.
Our school has very specific guidelines regarding this issue and everyone is made aware of continual changes.
have these new laws affected enrollments and how admissions representatives do their jobs? My school had to become creative to ensure or reps are working above a minimum standard because now they cannot be compensated or terminated based solely on how effective they are as a rep.
Our Institution is a for profit institution. The new regulations have affected our business dramatically. I believe my school has worked extremely hard to ensure the agents and admission reps work strictly within the letter of the law but the new regulations has now made it impossible to actually judge our employees on how effective they are at their jobs and compensate them accordingly. I think this has hurt the process and the students looking for opportunities that otherwise would not be available to them because of past academic and financial cirrcumstances.
We have started a FAP process that goes hand and hand w/ the students completion % and GPA.
Ongoing training, rules, regulations, and guidelines is very important part of growth in education.
