Resource Book

I have a binder that includes updates and memos relating to my school, minutes from weekly meetings, and also different policies and proceedures. My school's catalog and employee handbook are also in my resource binder. I am always adding new things to my binder.

I agree Christina!
Organization is a huge part of the job. Using Colors help you to find things on the fly when a student calls unexpectedly or when other departments are asking for information.

using colored tabs based on what each subject is for is a good way, I use clear pages and colored tabs and write them out in pencil so I can change them as the subject may change or evolve.

I've included all of the information regarding agent licenses, their governing policies and renewal requirements. Having come from a more traditional higher ed background, I was unaware the agent license process.

In my resource notebook I placed the responsibilities of the agent just to have nearby when I want to make sure I'm doing things ethically and effectively.

I have placed the rules/regulations that an agent needs to know to perform their job effectively and ethically. It helps to have it nearby just in case the agent has questions.

I have made copies of all the laws and placed them in my notebook. I have discovered that I do need to renew every year.

Hi! I'm a first time admissions representative and I'm noticing that there will be lots of paperwork. Any tips to organizing the different sections to my resource book?

By creating this notebook, I have all the available resources to be successful. I have added to my notebook the Admissions Representivie Regularoty Laws/Rules I added a copy of the catalog, enrollment agreement.

Having a book that is attainable is a good way for an individual to stay upto date in the requirments of the laws that affect their job directly and could be an issue. This also allows the individual to locate the information much faster.

I am continually building my resource notebook. I didn't realize that I should have our marketing materials/plans in the resource notebook. My college has given me the opportunity to review the materials, to meet with important staff and to "touch and feel" all of the important paperwork I will need to be using. I love the concept of marketing and I look forward to understanding all aspects of how our college markets our school. I plan to utilize the resource notebook and use best practices to conduct myself in a manor that is compliant with all parties.

I will be putting together a resource Notebook tommorrow. I like the idea of tabs. I think I might also include a clear page for business cards - especially for corporate contacts.

As this is my first day, I learned a lot about how admission reps are regulated, that we must be truthful and honest about Finacial aid and Placement rates. That we must be respectful in how we comment about other institution. That we can't try to steal students.

I have placed the Agent/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules in my Resource Notebook. I was not aware that, as an agent of the school, I cannot initiate contact with students who have already enrolled in a different school and attempt to have them enroll in my school.

Ive found that I am adding information to my resource notebook continuously and that my ADOA and Director are keeping me updated with the most current information which I am updating on a regular basis. I find that my resource notebook is extremely helpful.

I've created a resource notebook that is outlined as the training is. This is easiest way to find important information quickly. My resource notebook is extremely helpful.

So far I have the Terms and Definitions, Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules, my schools catalog, an example of the schools Enrollment Agreement, course information wheels, policies and procedures, and specific information about my campus. Due to my other training materials required at my campus I have already been aware of the rules and regulations. However, I was a little surprised at the Enrollment Agreement because I had never seen one before now.

Robert,

Glad your hear your school has made compliance a priority.

Hello,

My resource notebook is full of all of the information provided to me within the course today, including the laws, rules, statutes, and forms. I understand I need copies of the school catalog, School Enrollment Agreement, Marketing Plans, and Organizational Chart in order to be an effective and accurate representative.

I did not realize the differences between an agent and a counselor. I did not realize that because we are located in Indiana that I had to be personally reviewed to solicit to Ohio residents.

I have just begun to put together my Resource Notebook and so far I have put in the "Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws and rules. I feel this is the most vital portion, because it spells out what an Admissions Representative need to know and gives examples to help with understanding the Laws/Rules. I have discovered that the permit needs to be renewed annually. At first I did not understand why, but now that I understand that rules/laws can change, it is an important reason to require this anually.

I've printed the rules up to this point in the training. As far as what I've discovered up to this point is how in tune our school is with the rules and regulations. From our enrollments agreements to disclosures to enrollment requirements we are in alignment. As I've been in in similar roles for the better part of 10 years, I have not yet come across anything that I was not aware of relative to rules and regulations.
