I have placed the Agents / Admission Reps Regulatory Laws / Rules in my Resource Notebook. I have discovered that an agent must renew their permit annually.
I have placed copies of enrollment agreements to be able to compare and look over for future enrollments. I have placed our schools procedures and guidelines so I can always review them. I have also put in a copy of Ohio's rules and regulations pages. I was not aware before this that an agent must be recertified annually.
The Resource Notebook I thought was a great idea. I am new to the Admissions world and I think its a great resource to have. I can only imagine what questions students will have about the different programs in the institution that I work for, and being able to stay up to date with all of that information in my Resource Notebook is valuable.
All of the handouts available are in my resource notebook. We have just been studying for FAQs and most of the information applied in this course was also learned in FAQs.
I think this is a great way to keep track of all past, previous, adn future changes and laws. This will definitely become a quick reference tool i'm sure.
I included the agents/Admissions Reps regulatory Laws/rules. I was not aware that if the school's is required to cease operations, my agent permit wil be also suspended or canceled.
I have printed everything out because there is no such thing as too much information. I just did not realize having never been an agent before the compliance laws and rules. I particularly feel the terminology is important. Knowing what my job is and responsibility to my school in following all of the compliance is much more than the knowledge I already had. I worked for a University in the Financial Aid Department but was an Administrative Assistant. I did not have to test out to be an Agent but learned an abundance of information in Financial Aid which makes it difficult to know go into the Financial Aid part with the Student. This will help me in knowing what I can and cannot say. Thank you.

I have just started my note book but as the week goes on i will have place more info about the actual instructors back ground and experience. This will help me when asked about what the potential student will learn and who will be teaching them. It will help them KNOW they are being taught by qualified professionals.
Very helpful to keep all the reading material in one place. Also serves as a point of reference when information is needed for reference. Also good to know that the admission process is regulated to ensure students are not misled in any way.
I learned alot about certain disclosures that must be read to students as well as different policies and procedures that are a must when it comes to higher education. I have alot of contact information as well as links to information and forums in case that people need to be directed somewhere.
I have previously said what is in my resource binder in another question. I have learned that private institutions cannot be flexible in following rules and regulations. When I worked as a school counselor, we could be flexible in some situations...as long as we were not breaking the law!
My notebook includes sections with detailed information about our school and each of the programs we offer, our school catalog, forms, laws and statutes, training materials from the director of admissions, our enrollment agreement, organizational flow chart, accreditation information, important phone numbers, phone answering techniques and other things I think will be helpful.
What I have discovered is that rules and regulations cannot be flexible for any reason. As a school counselor, we followed the rules but sometimes we could be a little flexible when time was a factor. That probably doesn't make sense...but, the law was never broken!
I didn't realize that a recruiter was guided by so many regulations....however; appreciate that structure and regulations that are present to enusre factual information is provided to prospective students. Making a decision to attend school is tough enough and, speaking as a parent, pleased to learn that there are protective measures in place to attempt to ensure a potential student is not mislead where such an important decision is concerned.
I've placed all the printouts suggested as well as my employee handbook to start out. I plan to increase the size of my notebook in the following weeks with other useful information. I've learned that any and all knowledge regarding my school can only help me and my prospective students.
All of the print available information you have provided with all 4 modules. Also, a campus contact list is in my notebook. There are rules that I did get clarification on that I knew a little about. All of the information provided was helpful.
I printed off this entire course, our student manual for 2012 and our current course catalog. I learned that I had to study this course and pass the tests. I learned that marketing practices can not discredit other institutions and be overtly trying to deter others business. I learned that agents do not have to disclose info about financial aid. I learned about how there are very specific things that the state requires to be in the school catalog.
Even though the information is available online, I printed out the handouts as I worked my way through the course. I find it much more convenient to have information nearby. I am a new agent, and want to have "top of mind awareness" regarding these new rules and regulations.
I have put all the infomation from what is allowed to be presented at the school. To what can be said when speaking with students or parents on the phone. As well as what can be said when enrolling the student. Starting with fees and enrollment processes, to job placement and credentials that are needed once finished with education. I also have information posted in my Resource book on how to explain Financial Aid to Student and Parents. Mainly on how they can go about qaulifing for such resources.
I have included the school catalog and some of our marketing plans. I also have just added an organizational chart. This was very helpful. I now know who to go to with questions when my direct supervisor is not available.
All information given to me per the trainer has been included in my resource notebook along with personal notes I have taken throughout this training so far.
