I am being more intentional about reading the monthly employee newsletter and all of the marketing emails sent to our department.
I plan to make this Resource Notebook and fill it with all the information that has been given given to us in the course to fill it with. And then I would leave space in the binder with dividers to add other resources or changes that may come up. Rules and regulations will change over time and I have to be ready and stay with the changes as much as possible so that I am able to assist prospective students however they may need it.
All of the information presented thus far has been very helpful in giving me ideas on what we can do to better the flow at our institution. I have definitely been taking notes, as certain topics apply to us. I have already started to speak with different departments, providing suggestions in areas that I see fit.
I will frequently check the Ohio board website for any new updates that should be added to our notebooks.
I think the resource notebook is a great organizational tool. I think participating in the forums on a regular basis and reading what others do or even have questions on themselves, I can take a lot from that.
I am actually excited to put these learning materials together. I feel more empowered by taking this course. Some of it is from what I had already known, but now I feel more confident about what I want to say and how I go about saying it.
if any new information about the school or programs we offer comes out we should make sure we are trained on it if need be and put in our organizers
My plans to add any missing information is to add as I go, I am going farther and farther into the process, first did the phone calls, then the interview, currently working on more experience with the tail end of the interview and then this week I have been collecting disclosures and agreements to have at my arsenal. To keep up to date with changes made, I will most likely check my email, look at the edaff websites, and speak with fellow admissions reps and director if I think there is a change in process.
Keep in contact with my supervisor, read policies, law, regulations, and school of director on a daily base to stay in touch with the latest changes.
I try to keep an open line of communication with the director of education, financial aid and the administrative professional on staff. Our administartaive professional is a wealth of information and is usually on top of any changes. I also always try to complete my own research on a regular basis and share what I learn with other staff members. If we all practice open communication we all improve.
I plan to meet with the Director of Recruitment.
He let me know he has a ongoing updated manual that can be a resource tool available to me. This manual has materials I was looking for such as the organizational chart etc... I attend weekly information meetings with the recruiter. He has offerred to assist me with any questions I may encounter. I intend to access the OACC website for periodic updates. I have weekly meetings with the Director of Education & review my progress in orienting to this material.
I can check monthly to verify if the information is the same or if it has changed. I can also follow the links in the course material.
I plan to attend the Product Knowledge trainings that our department has on a weekly basis. The information provided during these trainings includes updates by academic directors and various other personnel who play a vital role in the academic success of the school. Also, the company intranet is a great source to utilize as it also provides updates and other information regarding the school. Lastly, I plan on asking questions if I am uncertain, need clarification, or need more info about the "missing information."
The DOA and Campus President have procedures in place to keep the admissions department up to date with any and all updates/changes, and has been successful for years.
My school keeps us up with any compliance issues via email or on the intranet. I will definately check these sources on a regular basis to insure that I have the most up to date information
My plans are to check my company internal website at least once per week in order to stay aware of any changes at my organizations.
We have weekly meetings to update all of us of any changes. I will also be checking the OACCS website on a regular basis.
It's simple, but part of my plans are to continue participating in school sponsored ongoing training about programs and school policies and procedures. Another key component with keeping up to date on changes is listening carefully to employee training during face-to-face meetings in small and large group settings.
I agree with you. We are also kept informed immediately about any changes and it comes up and is discussed extensively at our meetings twice a week.
I plan to be an active participant in any additional training opportunities offered by my University. I also know exactly who I should go to when I have additional questions. I also feel it will be important for me to read memorandums and updates as they become available to me.
I will Talk to the Directors of specific programs along with Student Services and my Director of Admissions.
