How should I do this- through the personal mail box system, or just putting it on my status update?

Any thoughts?

I am at the same institution as Quincy. I agree with everything he said. We are a startup institution, so we're not quite as developed as some of the other ones, but eventually I believe that it will be a necessary part of our program. It is good to keep in touch with the students via social networking as well as they can see the other students and feel as though they are a part of something great. I hope that we will be a part of some sort of social networking site soon.

However, I would imagine that an effective social networking strategy will be put in place at some point in the future.
