Knowing that your course of study has been reviewed and recommended for college credit lends to your credibility.
The advantages we have for being accredited is that we are able to offer a student much more than just an education. They have a chance to excel in what they have learned because being from an accredited school, they could possible continue on without having to retake courses and they are able to get better jobs knowing that they came from a accredited school verses one that was not accedited that were pushed to the bottom of the pile.
Accreditation helps validate to students that it is worth the time, money, and effort that they will put forth in attending our school. We always stress to students that accreditation does not imply that their credits automatically transfer to another institution.
Dolores,
Please keep in mind that being accredited does not guarantee that graduates of your will be able to transfer their credits to a 4 year program.

Dolores,
It is important to understand that just because your school offers an associates degree and is accredited, there is no guarantee that the credits will transfer to a 4 year program.

With acrreditation comes the increased credibility of our college to perspective students.
Our program is an associates degree program. By being accredited our graduates are able to transfer to an accredited 4 year program to further their education if that is their desire.

It helps the prospects to get funding to attend classes and have options to pay for them.
Accreditation has given us the opportunity to attract more students that are seeking that in an institution. It help a student make a decison when that is important to them.
Many students will ask if the school is accredited which I feel shows an informed potential student. They understand that accrediation is important and want to know the school they are attending is accredited.
I agree. Reputation and the possible transfer of credits
I stands to gain credibility from potential students for being accredited. Most employers want to know if you received your training from an accredited school. To know that WyoTech has taken the neccesary steps to become accredited should help a potential student be confident they are choosing the right program for their training.
Being accredited confirms our school's credibility. Having the opportunity to receive Title IV funding opens the door to a greater amount of men and women who want to go to school that otherwise wouldn't be able to.
In the 18 years I have worked in proprietary education, specifically admissions, I hear continously from prespective students and their families as well as employers that they want and need professional graduates from schools that have accredation because they view the education as valuable and possessing crediability. Personally, I am proud to state that I work for an institution that cares enough to voluntarily seek accdredation. The benefit for my organization is that our students see our education as not only valuable but also credible.
We provide career focused training to prepare students for liscensures and certifications. Accredidation requires us to mantain an approved standard of education, which means alot to an employer and prospective student.
I think that one advantage is that prospective students look for schools that have a specific programiatic accredidation. It is also good to know that the accredited body feels that you are keeping up with the standards of the profession.
My school is not a Title IV school. We are not accredited. This is something I often think would benefit us but they owners have decided not be accredited.
Being Accredited allows everyone to follow a standard and gives guidance to the Do's and Don't's of recruiting.
Holds more clout with students in regards to their professional careers.
