Firstly all the rules controlling an agents behavior. A comprehensive guide describing my institution, its objectives, tools and faculty. What I found most interesting is that my behavior reflects on the institution I represent and could cause them to be censured.
Start date: the first day of class
canceled: a student cancels their enrollment
Attendance: We are online so attendance is by participating in discussion threads and posting written assignments.
Rescheduled: When a student re-enrolls in a course of study
At my institution some of the common ones we use are:
Enrollment agreement- which is a legally binding contract that is signed by applicants as well as myself and the director.
Accreditation-Accrediting Agency- provides volunteer membership for institutions and act as "gatekeepers" for federal funding program participation if they are approved and recognized by the US Department of Education.
Commission- is the Florida Commission for Independent Education. This agency's mission is to protect Florida consumers by providing regulatory oversight to private post secondary institutions operating within the state of Florida
Rules- have been developed to implement Chapter 1005, Florida Statutes
In addition to the information from this CIE site, I actualy keep our University catalog in my resouce notebook. I have tabbed each of the sections which are relevant to our University and often are the most frequently asked questions by potential/current students. Through that tabbing process, I've discovered things I had forgotten over time. As an example: the process for potential F1 students and the "pre reqs" is clearly delineated in the catalog.
Enrollment, Enrollment Agreement, Accreditation, and Program are some that are commonly used.
Of course many terms and definitions are used a few that we use are philosophy, enrollment, and of course a big one is the definitiin of financial aid. Being sure the individuals understand the terms and definitions is very important. We want to make sure they understand everything we are going over with them the entire time.
Tamara,
Thank you for the feedback. Receptionists should be called "Director of First Impressions" as they are the first voice.
Irashe,
Feel free to add beyond the basics to make the notebook work for you.
Rabia,
Make the notebook your own and work hard for you.
Pierre,
Yeah!!!! You made us smile.
Kourtney,
Good advice. Thank you for your post.
Matthew,
Excellent start...make the notebook your own.
Kourtney,
The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract between the student and the school.
Steve,
Excellent! Thank you for your post.
Rabia,
These terms should also be defined in the catalog.
Diana,
There are credentialling companies that determine foreign transcripts. They are prepared to review and deliver an examination of the transcript in comparison to U.S. standards. CIE can provide you more information.
Diana,
Not so much a specific order to follow but to contain all the requirements of Fair Consumer Practices and Standard 11.
Henry,
We always need to clarify.
Brook,
Excellent suggestion on the employee biographies. I can see where this would be very helpful.
Nicholas,
Agents are outside of the school's physical location.
