Eric.
Accreditation is different from licensure by the state. Accreditation is voluntary and licensure is mandatory.
Bryan,
The addition of the student handbook and student service numbers are awesome. Thank you for your post.
Cathy,
Thank you for your post.
Catalina,
They need to do the proper research by actually having the official transcript reviewed by the receiving institution.

Susan,
You will find that each state is different but similar. Keep on learning!
Clifford,
Accreditation is an important term to be well understood by the student. Many confuse the term with licensure.
Carlos,
How do you express these terms to the students?
Debi,
Definitions certainly play an significant role in order for the students to understand the catalog, enrollment agreement and other important papers.
Sudat,
You are off to a great start. Keep adding material such as the rules and laws of Florida and any accrediting information.
I have place some of the training materials concerning the admissions process in my resource notebook. A list of positive words and product knowledge material are also in my resource notebook. Compliance information and notes from our trainings are in my resource notebook also.
I have learned about some of the standards like the 90/10 policy for student aid and why it has to be that way.
Some of our terms used are:
One-on-One- This is a term used when a prospective student comes into our campus the first time for more inforamtion about our programs.
Enrollment packet - Information included in a packet for our studens with the information to begin enrollment into our programs.
Application - For possible enrollment
Fianancial Aid - Financial Aid to help students pay for program
Testing - Required to enter into program
Orientation - Mandatory for students to meet staff and faculty and receive books and other importatn information needed while in our program.
We take the student step by step to ensure they know exaclty what they need to do next to enroll into our program.
We use lots of the terms used within this training
Some terms and definitions used at my institution on a daily bases during the admission process are ACICS, Accredation, and Enrollment.
Most of my student tend to ask multiple questions regarding accredation. I see this as the most important aspect for the students.
I am enjoying the class information thus far, I am new to FL and was teaching in WI at Lakeside School of Massage Therapy. Most of the information is informative and new to me so I appreciate having to take the course. At this time I do not have a particular question, I am sure I will as I get further into the course.
I really like what Yan had to say here. To add to it, I really feel that clearly defining the terms and conditions of the admissions process is paramount in making sure that the student has both a clear understanding of what they considering committing to and is the first step to in the process of the student making a well informed and educated decision about there academic future. All of the above stated terminologies are very important and even the smallest mistakes in addressing them could possible hender or hurt a student as they consider there educational future.
So far I have started my resource book with the school catalog, program disclosures and enrollment agreement.
Christina,
I am pleased to hear you are learning new information. Our students are very savvy today and you will have the answers.
