Sheffian,
Continue to add additional material to help you grow in your position. The more you add, the more the notebook gains value.

Susan ,
Titles are very important! If you use an unapproved title, such as counselor, it is considered as misleading the student.
Patty Aronoff

The process of licensing agents is a important part of the Florida Administrative Code in the consumer protection laws for students.
Patty Aronoff
Stephanie,
Satisfactory academic progress must be determined at set points during their educational time at your school. The determination must be made that they are meet the minimum grade point average required and can complete within the maximum time frame allowed.
Patty Aronoff
Donard,
Grant money is the best deal for your students in that grants do not have to be paid back. Many students have been able to go to school because of this availability of money.
Patty Aronoff
christine,
Excellent post! You have clearly identified commonly used terms and provided in depth definitions for them.
Patty Aronoff

The Florida Administrative Code explains the administration of the Florida Statutes.

Diana,
Excellent explanations of your terms. The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract with the student. They are the two most important documents of the enrollment process.

An admissions employee can only work for a licensed institution.
An admissions employee must satisfactorily complete approved admissions training as well as training provided by the institution.
An admissions employee (and particularly the Agent) is required to complete additional forms such as criminal justice information, and the institution is required to pay fees.
The institution is required to submit other information, including the catalog, and retain a certificate of completion on file showing that admissions employees have completed training.
The Commission staff must review the admissions employee personnel form to ensure it is complete, accurate, etc.
There are certain criteria for nontransferable licensure of the Agent (admissions staff who works away from the campus).
The Agent license is effective for one year and is not transferable.
The Agent license must be renewed each year.
The institution must notify the Commission if the Agent resigns or is dismissed.
An Agent's license is subject to denial, probation, or revocation on certain grounds.
Revocation of the Agent's license leads to investigation of the institution.
Money collected by an admissions employee on behalf of students must be turned over to the institution.
The terms most commonly used would be; Accreditation, Title IV, Enrollment Agreement, SAP - Satisfactory Academic Progress, checkpoints - when a student reaches 'x' hours their SAP is assessed.
Accreditation, financial aid, grants, loans,

The resource notebook is certainly a very valuable tool. The university that i work with has a great deal of information available and the resource notebook allowed me to maneuver through various departments within the organization to get all (or at least a good start to all) that I needed. The enrollment agreement was something that I knew only superficially. Having added to my notebook and spending time reviewing it was a very worthwhile process and I believe I understand it much better than I did prior to setting up the notebook.
I spoke with our marketing department and was able to obtain various materials that connect prospective student with our institution. Though not in the notebook, the conversations that I had were well worth the time. The materials advanced my understanding of the university and the programs that it has to offer. Additionally, allowed me to take a deeper look beyond my department to become much more familiar with the various departments that serve students within the university. As I move through this course and beyond I will continue to update the resource notebook continually with valuable information for myself and potential students.
Accreditation, Enrollment agreement, and Title IV are very, very common in the admissions process at our university.
Accreditation- recognition granted to an institution by an accrediting body. It, in a way, legitimizes the institution and/or their programs for various trades or scopes.
Enrollment agreement- a contract signed by applicants signifying legal recognition, understanding and acknowledgement of enrolling in said institution.
Title IV- federal funds used for post secondary educations that are regulated by the Department of Education.
