I have been in Admissions for over 15 years. States that I worked in, did not require an Agent permit. With that being said, I did not know what to expect when I first started. However after going through most of the course work here, I feel it is a great idea for all school to require the admissions department to have a clear understanding of their roll as well as the responsibilities of the institution.
This was a refresher course for me personally. It is always good to remind yourself of procedures and update what may have changed. Anyone that takes their job or position for granted will likely overlook areas of improvement.
There were no real surprises for me. This course really just high lighted the rules and regulations that I need to stay up to date on and make sure I am following them.
My school has actually done a very good job at teaching me most of this information before even taking this program. I feel confident that I can be a great representative for prospective students.
i think our main requirement is to stay on our toes with rules and regulations reguading the prosess and get to know al the ins and outs of the school to be better solution providers to our students and better assist them in making the choice that will change their lives.
I agree that the resource notebook is an excellent way to keep on top of all the rules and regulations regarding agents. I feel having the notebook will be an excellent tool towards being a successful agent.
Good morning,
My success as an agent relies on my ability to constantly stay updated on the rules and regulations that govern my institution as well as staying up to date on the program offerings at my college. There are multiple resources I have at my disposal including my supervisor, career services, employers, and directors of education.
I found the course very helpful as a newly hired agent. While I think a lot of the regulations and rules should be common sense to an agent, I am sure at times the pressure to attract students to a school and get them enrolled can skew the judgement of some. Reviewing the rules and regs of the Ohio Code is a good way to remind yourself of how we should and should not act as an admissions agent no matter the pressures of the job.
This course has provided me with a more indepth view of the importance of an agent's keeping up-to-date and informed, not only about regulatory matters, but also about the internal systems and programs of the school. The more current knowledge the agent has, the more value he can bring to prospective students.
My thoughts about the agent’s requirements are the same as when I started. Not only do agents play a vital part of the success of the school but, they also play a vital part in the success of the student. It is the agents responsibility to be very knowledgeable about the programs that are offered at the school and if the school and program is going to be the right fit for the student. As a rep, all the material that was covered today is very useful and important to be successful and helpful to our students.
At the begining, I was a little overwhelmed with all of the information. However as I read through each module and broke it into sections I have found the information informative and highly important to my new position.
I feel about the same as I did when I started this course. I was surprised at how regulated this whole industry is in regards to the admissions and agent process.
I had no idea that there were many rules and regulations that govern Admission Reps. It's been very helpful in knowing what is allowed/required of me as rep to affectively do my job properly.
The course was very helpful. The information was presented clearly and wasn't too overwhelming. I especially like the idea of the resource notebook and the checklist that was provided on rules/policies to include. The forums have been very helpful as well. It's always good to hear about best practices and things that are working or not working well at other schools.
It's given me a much deeper understanding of all this job encompasses. There is so much more to the enrollment process than I initially thought, especially with the various rules and regulations. I think it helps the Agents and the students for us to all be informed of everything.
agents duties are to be knowldgeable about programs offered by their school. Build a relationship with the student so that they feel confortable with you so that they can approach you if they need anything throughout there college career.
It makes me realize more how much responsibility we have, even when our duties may sometimes seem limited. We are the intial point of contact with prospective students, thus our role in the entire process is vital.
I think a quick refresher sometimes is very important. Sometimes it is easy to get comfortable saying the same thing and eventually we end up sounding like robots. Having a quick refresher is a good way to change up your wording, make it more personal and also make sure you are up to date on changes.
I am new to Admissions. There is alot to learn. I think training is important because it protects the students, the school, and the agent.
The agent has a lot of responsibilities that many are unaware of. They have to keep up to date with so many things that are changing all the time. I have learned a lot of ways to help me stay organized and more efficient. Also it is very important to be aware of what everyone else does so that you can do your job better.
