ED110 Stress Management

One of the courses that I currently teach is Psychology.  The one chapter that I really emphasize in the book is the one concerning stress management and coping skills.  Students need to understand primarily how to management their time and secondly how to cope with the issues that interfere with doing well academically.  I also try to convince students that once this is achieved that every other stressor in their lives can be handled in a similar fashion.

ED110

I learned a great deal about stress and how to use good coping mechanisms to deal with it. Tomorrow I will start using what I have learned in this course.

ED107

I enjoyed this course so much. it is very helpful to all of us . Most of this can be incorporated in our classrooms.

special needs

I must admit that I do not consider myself the appropriate personan to address special needs. In my opinion, I should recognize a potential issue and refer it to an appropriate professional to address and to give me guidance.

I want the issue solved in the student's best interest; not my uneducated opinion.

E103

This course on stress management was excellent.  I try hard to maintain a Stress Free Environment especially when teaching.  I try very hard to make a very Positive Environment while teaching.  It seems to rub off very well.  My enthusiasim for the course is effective.

I takes walks in the morning and it helps me to stay stress free and positive

ED 201

Understanding multiple disabilities in the classroom is important.  A classroom is diverse and reaching out to each and every student is important.  Without diversity our world would be boring.  As instructors it is our responsibility to keep everyone engaged no matter what circumstances may arise with or without disabilities.

ED 104 Class Management Strategies

This course was very informative and provided me with some additional class room management skills that can be implemented with very little effort.

I really enjoyed taking this course.

104

The course was very informative!  It reminded me of some old techniques, while teaching me some new ones.  I plan to utilize smaller group discussions more and hope to get more guest speakers to come into my class.  Great online course.

ED 110 Stress Management

It was very interesting to see that many people have the same work related stressors that I experience too.  It was also very interesting to see some of the ways that others cope with this inevitable stress.  I think that class was interesting from the discussion stand-point, but did not really feel like I learned anything I didn't already know from the instructional material in ED 110

Lesson Plans

I thought the ED109 course was a good review of the way I learned to write lesson plans.

ED109 Creating Effective Lesson Plans

I was able to take what I learned from this course and consider it for future lesson plan strategies.  My degree in education also assisted me in taking the assessments.

Mr Aki Anding

I really enjoyed the post in the instructor forum.  A great way to prevent teaching pitfalls.

Characteristics of the Adult Learner

What an eye opening insight into adult learners! I really liked the section on the concept  of students as customers. Also excellent material on advising students.

Time Waits for No Woman

I like this saying, I use it alot with my children and students to indicate to the they need to take control of their future.  Right Now! Truly, time doesn't wait.

This was a great review for managing the adult education classroom. I picked up several new tips, as well as reinforcing or reminding me of things that get put on "auto pilot".

My only concern was the fact that I could not review my final quiz. I did not score 100%, but was not able to find out why or what I missed. Knowing what was missed helps to re-enforce the knowledge. You learn by your mistakes, right?

Over all a helpful course.

Time waits for no man

Time management can be a componet of good business or good instruction EVERY day- there is only so much time to conduct so much business. In the case of instruction, say in the field of HISTORY. History increases in volume every day but the time you have to instruct it remains the same. So do we just keep deleting and condensing to get all the important facts in or do we make the points that are the most important center on the rest of the topic. Of course the answer is B, and we take for granted that the time… >>>

Motivation

I agree that student motivation is a major role in retention, when i see the ah-haa moment in my students, it reminds me why i love being a teacher!

I really enjoyed this online course

104 was a great course.  Not only did it confirm some of the applications that I already knew, but it also taught me a few new tricks to apply to problem students, especially the shy and ready-to-quit ones.  Thanks!

Lesson Plans

I see how lesson plans and planning can benefit a professor who uses them.
