Regarding tests

Multiple choice questions require greater thinking on the part of the student as opposed to "true or False" questions. However, true or false questions are easier to compose.

online vs human contact

It would be interesting to compare outcomes between online instruction vs having an instructor actually teaching.

Humor

I tend to use humor and current topics, to help steer some of my lectures. It helps stimulate their thought process and helps them tie in with what I am trying to tell them.

delivering method

students love hearing everything about scenarios or situations the happen to the instructor and their field and how he/her deal with the issue without getting and trouble and discuss diferent scenarios and how each student handle the same situation making students to participate and share with the class how each react to the situation and how to be solve and thier own words and ideas

Students with learning disabilities

What is a good approach to assist with a student's motivation when they are embarrassed of their learning disability? Some students become discouraged when they recognize they are the only one in the class in need of extra attention. Do you recognize their efforts?

Testing formats

Understanding the different types of testing formats and their applications has given me a broader view of how to test my students. I look forward to applying all types of tests in my next course. Thanks for the very useful insight.

Music in the classroom

I have used music in my class's for years. Having music playing while the students are entering energizes them. Music is common for all cultures and I use it to bring students together.

address a disability

What is the best way to address a disability if the student is not aware if it?

Know it all

I find that I want to provide the correct answer to each and every question the students ask of me. I feel badly if I do not know all information. I feel like they lose credibility with me. Am looking for ways to respond to students so that I do not look uninformed, but place the learning responsibility back on them.

dyslexia

Will there ever be a different style of material for the students with dyslexia. Material that is easier to read and understand. Wouldn't that help.

understanding learning disabilities.

What do you do when a student does not show his/her disability. How do you get them to bring it out so you can help them?

Group Learning

I like the putting them in groups, small groups of less than 8. Trying to split up the diversity of them could be hard since they all seem to "buddy up" to quick. How to you really get the right diversity.

knowing the class

How do you know that your teaching deliver is being received by the students?

Actions speak louder then Words !

Not having experience in this yet, I am firm believer that my actions have to show the students the same respect that I ask them to show me.

road maps

I like the road map theory. Keeps things in order/uniform

Delivery Methods

I have found the most effective delivery method to course material is when I use an example from when I was in the field and open the class to discussion on how that scenario can lead to other situations related to the course content.

The "Debbie Downer"

What would be a good approach for the "Debbie Downer"(The student who dwells on negativity)? This kills the classroom motivation and sometimes the "Debbie Downer" isn't doing anything wrong where you would be aloud to ask them to leave your class.

What is the best resource material?

Some students can read and have a grasp on the information. Some students can look at pictures and have a grasp on the information. My question is would you recommend resource material that has both the write up and pictures or the pictures and bullet points? Is there a point where too much information on the resource material would be classified as a negative?
