Importance of involvements & mental engagement

Students are best engaged when given visual and hands-on activities.

Other activities to consider

I have had success with utilizing the game "Scrabble". I scrabble letter to words and the student are responsible for unscrabbling and giving me the definition.

Class participation techniques

I would probably utilize the ball toss and the scret indentity in my next class session. Good ideas

Engaging Stidents

I have found that allowing the students to come to the front of the class and present to their classmates, students seem to be receptive to this. Introducing more hands on activities, has been very successful.

Term

I am interested to hear how others engage their class?

Hello

I enjoy crosswords but I also play the matching game on the computer, anyone else have a suggestion?

Try This

Has anyone every played hang man or hot potato

Rubrics

Do rubrics help student to retain information

Great Information

This was a very positive experience for me to know all these information, which will diffenetly going to have a strong impact on me during my class and also in my students, thanks.

eye contact

Eye contact is very important also. Facial expressions between employer/employee.I learn to read into expressions also I think

Whole brain organizer

I really enjoy this exercise because it employs everyone's attention regardless of which type of learner one is.

Cross Word Puzzles

This cross word puzzles can be as challenging as you want them to be and really captivates the attention of the analytical learners.

Ball tossing

I plan on using this method of learning becuase it aligns better with my methodology of teaching and places the learners in the spot light to see if they have retained key points of the day's lesson and an opportuntity to explain it to its peers.

Wivestails

I use old wivestails and/or urban legends to illustrate medical concepts that the learners have heard their entire lives, but have never taken the time to understand why they have been around such a long time or why people believe them. I break down the physiology or anatomy behind these wivestails and expose them for what they are (partial truths).

creating fun learning enviroment

fun learning environment would actively engage students.

An Activity done each Class

Consider doing a different activity each class time. When mid-terms or finals approch, take a vote from the students; which activity was their favorite and use that activity for review for their final exam.

My student seem to take very well to games that can jog their memory. I normally do this the day before the quiz. Ill break them into to teams. No ones in a loser...everyone wins. they seem to like that very much
