Workforce information for the prospect student

It is extremely important to have current information regarding the employment possibilities a student has after graduation if they enroll in a given program. Our institution has a document that gathers retention and placement, among information for every program to inform students, prospects and the general public, so I think we are on the right track. In the admissions office we need to be aware that we need to give this information to the prospective student every time to help them make an informed decision.

Understanding your institution is going to help you in many ways. it will help you to understand your position as well as others and help your admissions process will be delievered more effeciently.

I think staying up to date is important. Our corporat office created an intranet so that we can stay up to date on all current and ne information.

It's important that admissions personnel keep current to provide accurate information.

Representative's Responsibility

On quiz 2, there is a question about the admissions representative's responsibility that states if the representative was not informed about some changes made by the institution or regulatory bodies it is not her/his responsibility. My question is, how can the representative have responsibility about some changes which nobody informed her/him about?

I always suggest to students that they check with someone who works in the field that they want to study and work, and ask them about the salary and cap and how long it takes to reach that cap. I also suggest that they ask that person what they like about their job and how intersting is the job.

Reading is really the best way. You have to read the state website,and newsletters to keep you inform of all the changes. In addition, you need to attend all admissions and training, so we can be sure we are doing things in compliance and to the best of our knowledge.
