Organizing Paperwork

Is important that all you admissions paperwork and material is ready for the prospective student before you start your because you will be more organize and on point wit everything that the prospective students will need.

Articulation agreements

There are trade associations that offer similar courses to our basic course. For us to accept their courses are we required to have an articulation agreement - or is such an agreement primarily between educational entities?

Keeping Current on Licensing Laws in Mutiple Locations

In the school where I work, we have a national and perhaps international focus - we prepare our graduates to work throughout the US and Canada. It is impossible to keep current on licencing requirements in so many different places. Is it reasonable to tell the applicant that they will need to check with the local licensing bodies on spoecific requirements, while telling them the generic requirements?

Up to date information

Now I am able to conform my Resource Notebook. I have known exactly what I should include and and how frequent I should update it.

Advertising and Marketing

A correct advertising is fundamental in the process of recruiting prospective students. Marketing is also important and at the same time very stressful. There are so many people interested but at the same time with lack of knowledge about what they really want. A good marketing requires strategies on how to properly approach different nationalities with different cultures and points of view.

Involving alumni in the admissions process - is licensing required?

How does the involvement of alumni in the admissions process relate to the requirement that "outside admissions agents" need to be licensed. Many potential students ask to be put in contact with graduates. Sometimes these graduates may also be invited to information sessions and to speak to potential applicants about attending. Are the graduates "admission agents"? Do they need to be licensed in Florida?

Rules and Regulations

As it happens in other cases it is our responsibility to be on top of any changes or updates. I believe we have to check every month for updates. This is something we need to carefully review for the purpose of informing coworkers and students as well as avoiding violations. This really concerns me and it will be a topic of discussion in our monthly meeting until we understand the IMPORTANCE of complying with the rules and regulations

Resource Notebook

I wonder if any information contained in the Resource notebook changes completely, do we update by adding or deleting the previous one.

Alternate financiing

We are not an accredited school, and have been approached by a company that offers alternative financing consulting. They arrange for us to get in contact with financing entities. Is this something anyone is familiar with?

Enrollment agreements on line

Has anyone had experience using downloadable PDF form enrollments. Were they successful?

Career Schools vs Colleges/Universities

Today the cost of Education is at an all time High....Attending a four year institution Cost well over $80,000. Career Schools seem more affordable... What do you Think???? Dr.Covington

A Mobile Campus

This type of outreach is a most effective way to recruit new students.... A Mobile Campus is a converted motor home designed to serve the College district with admission materials for new Prospects.. Dr. Covington

staying up-to-date and compliant

We are a small non-profit organization who has added a for-profit school as a means of generating income to keep us afloat. Although we are an educational center already as a non-profit, the for-profit side of education seems rife with pitfalls as it concerns trending careers, etc. We emphasize STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and this industry these days changes every 6 months. I foresee us needing to have more technical people added to our staff so that we can keep abreast of what the newest needs in the workplace are and plan our curriculum accordingly.

Radio Advertising

How successful is radio advertising for a small business?

Resource Notebook

Creating a resource notebook is an excellent idea for the office. This will be useful for all employees to access at anytime.

Transfer of Credits

Is transfer of credits or work experience a necessary option for those students coming to our new trade school?

Lead Generation Companies

We are a brand new institution to our area. As we will be looking for ways to promote our business immediately upon opening, I am interested in links to Lead Generation Companies!

Financial Aid (Department)

For a small institution, I am seeing that our Admissions Representative(s) must also handle Financial Aid, as we have not hired Financial Aid Personnel thus far.. Surely it cannot be a requirement that a Financial Aid 'Department' or 'Officer' be in place for an Institution of our size..

Placement Director

Though our Institiution is to be a small one, with 12 students or less per class and one to two classes daily, I do see the importance of a Placement Director. Can an Admissions Director take on the dual role in a small Institution..

Proper Advisement

I am amazed at the number of prospects calls we receive after being told by other schools that their criminal background will not affect them. Or after these poor students pay out nearly $20K to attend a class they will not be able to obtain gainful employment in that industry. Needing to pass a level 2 bsckground check is vital in certain industries. Always best to be upfront and honest. My goal, as well as the schools,is for the students to succeed.
