Hi Ray:
I agree that students like to have an organized environment, they have enough chaos in their lives already. Even if there are many assignments or lots of activity, when it's laid out in an orderly manner, presented in a logical and sequential order, and delivered with confidence and as planned and expected, this kind of order demonstrates planning has preced this lesson, and students will appreciate it.

Hi John:
Yes, students do expect us to have the knowledge, background, and expertise to teach the class. Along with tht comes preparation, time, effort, planning, thought, and consideration how best to present the material
These traits don't come without our initiative. They can make the difference between mediocre and awesome!

Hi Deborah:
Gaps in the delivery surely stand out if the teacher is unprepared.
A prepared teacher has preceded their lesson with study-review, time, thought, effort, planning, and consideration how best to present the lesson. This will show quite evidently, or not if ommitted. Over time, students recognize when the teacher is prepared and they are not.

I can tell you from experience NOT being prepared really makes you look unprofessional and as if you don't care about your students. That may not be the case but it certainly looks and feels that way to your students.
Being prepared shows your students you enjoy your job, you care about their experience in learning and want to see them achieve their goals.
I think the answer is obvious, an organized instructor is one who respects his students time and investment in the class. I have found that students like organization because then they know where they stand. Nothing is more frustrating than asking questions in a class only to have little to no reference information.
Hi Christopher:
Of course, time and experience can assist teachers guage timing of their lessns, and estimate how much time is needed for new material.
That said, I thnk using a planner, or any other method tat keeps the teacher aware and on track isw worthwhile. Students usually call detect when that last 30 minutes of a class ae "rushed" and the teacher is just trying to get through the material, rathe than authenic, sincere teaching.
The consequence could be students tuning out just as much as the teacher speedg up!

Hi Alicia:
True - and there are many ways to prepare, but the bottom line is when it's time for class, the students see a teacher ready for class, with resources organized, able to feild questions withouty missing a step, and making the class interesting and enjoyable.
This environment doesn't happen by itself, it takes work, effort, and thought. Teacher who fail to plan will not be well received by their students if thta pattern is consistently demonstrated.
Regards, Barry
Hi Cynthia:
Sure, when things appear together and running smoothly, the environment is improved for learning. And smooth, planned class sessions will be appreciated by the students too.
Regards, Barry
Hi Marsha:
Yes, preparedness does take time. The students will notice this, ad certainly the teacher that puts in the time and effort know it. This shows the students their teacher cares about their learning and successfulness.
Regards, Barry
Hi Gina:
Yes, I agree. Smooth classes don't usually happen without preparation and effort preceding their delivery. And studets do appreciate when teachers prepare. They feel the teacher knows their stuff and satisfied their learning as well.

Hi Amy:
Good idea - I believe when students understand what is planned, they will tend to stay focused and pay atention a little bit better. Also, having all resources ready to smoothly transition from topic to topic or activity helps stay on track and students feel the teacher is in control.

Hi Larry:
Well, you've painted an interesting analogy, but it's true, we have some control when planning has occurred vs. the potential for less than wonderful student outcomes without planning and preparation.

Hi Kelli:
Many schools have rules preventing early dismissals because they realize many students expect their full money's worth of education. No teacher should be so unprepared that they have to dismiss class early because they have nothing more to contribute - that'd be awful.
Regards, Barry
Hi Sharon:
Prepared teachers do convey a sense of confidence and competence when all resources are together, a logical sequential daily lesson plan is mapped out, and the teacher makes the lessons or discusions interesting. Prepared mean "I'm ready", and that makes for more enjoayable classroom experiences.

Hi Natasha:
I agree an important aspect is the student's confidence in btheir instructor's knowledge and competence. Being prepared allows the teacher to express their experise most efficiently. Even competent teaches who fail to prepare can apear as not knowing their material. A degree of lost respect could result.

Hi Eva:
Great - and students can tell when a teaher is prepared. Organized lessons and resources coupled with an enthusiastic and prepared instructor set the stage for effective learning.
Regards, Barry
It is very important for an instructor to be organized and prepared. Students can tell immediately if an instructor is not prepared.
It is also a sign of respect for teaching if you know exactly what you are teaching. Ill-prepared
instructors can get sidetracked frequently to different subjects.
It is important for an instructor to be organized and prepared for each class because keeping the flow going is important. It keeps the students engaged and builds the confidence and credibility of the instructor.
Using an advanced organizer is crucial for time management in a classroom. You need to know how well you are doing on time and allow enough time for activities and learning exercises. Also, you can lecture in a coherent manner for the students which will help them with information retention and organization.
It is important because it is part of crucial classroom management. If an instructor is not prepared, it is an injustice to the student who suffers from this discord. Organization helps pave the path to a fluid course. The instructor expects the student to be organized and prepared, the student should get the same from the instructor.
