Help the students understand or grasp the subject matter that is being tought.

Timothy,
Great. And we as teachers should be able to transfer the information we've gained from our past to the students. If so, we have achieved something good.

Regards, Barry

Hi Bruce,
Yes - job readiness in every way. Of course this includes the technical or specific career training. But also, soft skills, professionalism, attendance, dress - these skills are needed too. Technical will help get the job through their knowledge. The soft skills will help them keep the job and have a successful career.

The goal of educating students is to have them take the training and instruction you have given them and use it in a different setting. If a student truly learns a subject they should be able to apply the knowledge outside of the classroom.

The goal for educating the student is to help them succed in their goal and to help you succeed in your goal as an Educator. The student really is looking to you as an instructor to help them get as much information as they can to help them succeed in their goal as a learner. We as instructors have a obligation to help our customer reach the goal they have set fourth.

Hi Kevin:
We might also say the overall goal of all education is to help our students make better, more informed decisions in life/on the job.

Hi William:
As educators, we are the facilitators of learning. So I would modify that a bit to say the goal is to be facilitators of changed behavior. And that behavior is specialized as it needs to be focused on job readiness.

Learning - observing changed behavior

Hi Niurka:
If we are preparing students for a career, of course we want them to be able to secure employment, then keep the job afterwards as they begin to build their career. So, there is the technical or theory portion of instruction, but also the soft skills that help keep people in jobs - things like good attendance, communication skills, professionaliams, dress, etc. If we can impart these attributes along with the technical training, we will have helped them for a lifetime of successful job experiences.

Regards, Barry

Hi Miriam:
Good! Vocational readiness is a good way to summarize our overarching goal in most career schools. But if only a single class is in discussion, then we might say our goal is to meet the Student Learning Outcomes (SLO's) by assuring daily teaching objectives are being met through a variety of learning resources.

My goal for educating students is make sure they can learn everithing the can and provide good coping skills.

The goal of educating students is to have them successfully complete their courses with the knowledge and skills to continue with their program of study and apply those skills in their personal and professional lives.

Hi Jeremy:
Excellent! So what we're saying here is we ultimately want our students to know how to make the most effective decisions in life.

Regards, Barry

Hi Thomas:
Good - and for me, everything means soft skills, professionalism, attendance, etc. Many of our younger students have had poor or absent training the common courtesies involving the world of work, so beside the technical aspect of a job, we can help our students by teaching them how to be good employees, able to acquire and keep a job, and have a successful career.

Regards, Barry

The goal is educating students on everything they can learn while preparing them for job readiness.

The goal is educating students on everything they can learn while preparing them for job readiness.

Hi Doyle:
Very true. Most of us were hired becasue we had the work experience and life experienjces that when channeled in a training program with a formal curriculum can benefit students by what we have been through. Getting students to trust our competence and sincere desire for them to do well is a significant goal.

Regards, Barry

For the students to gain some skills and knowledge. Also you have provided your expertise and they learned from you as an instructor from your life experiences.

Hi Sheila:
Good information. For me, my vision for the student is to be technically competent, skilled, carrying away all the earmakrks of a professional. If I can achieve that I feel I will have helped that student in the career (and life, too).

Regards, Barry

The goal of educating students is helping them to apply the knowledge that you have shared with them through out their choice of a career or their life.
