I find it helpful to provide examples of work especially when it involves a research paper or presentation where the type of work expected of the students may be something they are completely unfamiliar with. I provide them with an "A" paper so that may see formatting and page length, references, etc. I've notices that this helps the "visual" learners who need to see what it is that is expected of them instead of just hearing me explain it or doing it cold.
with out examples students cant learn as well
Hi Robert,
Students love having examples to go by so that they know exactly what is expected of them.

Whit many of my students having an examples of what there going to be doing gets exsited. they look forward to whats ahead and show up
Hi Leonard,
That's right! A visual gives students greater clarity.

Hi Dorothy,
I agree! It also eases fear and gives students the cofidence and motivation they need to get started and do well.
Patricia Scales
By showing examples of the work the students have a better understanding of what it takes to complete the assignment.
I think this provides or promotes interest into the activities of the course and relevance of the content.
Hi Michael,
Students have enough to be concerned about while in college. By sharing examples students anxiety level decreases.
Patricia Scales
It makes the learning more practical for them. If they see and learn how it is supposed to be completed, they can apply it to a "real life" situation. It also decreases anxiety as they know what to expect. Unclear expectations will increase anxiety and likely reduce student retention.
Hi LaKeisha,
Students are really more motivated and confident when they can see an example of what is required of them.

Hi Brenda,
Awesome! Students better understand what is expected of them when they can see an example.
Patricia Scales
I agree and it also helps them to stay on track with course agendas
I have the students create a medical office using a shoe box and I generally save one for the next class to see as an example.
Hi Amy,
Absolutely! Students feel more at ease and more confident when they have an outline they can follow. Seeing is really believing.
Patricia Scales
Hi Peter,
I concur! When students have a great model to follow, they are ready to begin because they feel as though they can produce quality work.
Patricia Scales
Lays an outline out for students to understand what is expected of them as well as get them excited for what they are to learn along the way.
Showing examples of student work personalizes the course products and outcomes in the student's mind. He or she sees the accomplishments of fellow students and that recognition, if drawn from correct presentation, can actually tap potentials for a like success within a student.
-To first see and then to be sets the course to mastery.
Hi Christina,
Students need to know exactly what is required of them so that they can produce quality work and do well in the course.

Hi Dennis,
