Hi John,
You are definitely on point! It is a win-win situation to share examples with students. Great clarity is added when things are visible.

Benefits of showing student work include allowing students to see the peramiters of what is expected. They can see what they should be doing and the level to which they should be completing assignments.

Showing examples of student work also instills confidence that students are progressing in their work in the right direction.

Showing examples of work also makes clear requirements of the course, as examples of work other students have completed make it evident as to what is possible in the class.

Hi David,
Accumulate some excellent examples! Students have a better understanding when examples are shared.

Hi John,
Students get it when they can see it!

Hi Shawn,
Visual adds better clarity. Most students gain a better understanding by seeing.

Showing work would be helpful as an exemplar for the class. As a newr instructor, I need to accumulate samples.

The video gave an excellent example of a test pilot developing a sense of boundaries. Showing students examples of the work they will be doing sets similar boundaries. They know expecations and the level of skill that will be required. I teach graphic design, and showing examples of work, also sets the expectaion of quality as far as craftsmanship.

This will help them prepare themselves for the work that they will be doing. They will feel more prepared and I believe it will help the succeed.

Hi Terrak,
Students tend to have a better understanding when real-world examples are shared.

Patricia Scales

Hi Gail,
Good point made. Examples that are shared with students before they actually do an assignment provides them with great clarity so that they know exactly what needs to be done.

Hi Donald,
Great clarity is added when examples are shared.

I think it is helpful because it provides instructors an opportunity to share the real-world applications to the work and assignments the students will be involved in during the course. These real-world examples can help highlight the "what is in it more me" scenario for the students.

If a student is aware of the expectations in their career setting, they will be more efficient carrying out their work. As an example, a medical assistant working in a clinical setting is asked to help out at the front desk with administrative duites. Although her specialty is medical assisting, she has also been trained in medical billing and coding and how the world of medical insurance works. She has additionally been trained on dealing with the daily routine of running a medical office. These are additional skills that she brings to her job and make her a valued employee.

I absolutely agree. I put samples out to share and show what is to be expected.

Hi Herman,
When students understand the benefit(s), they become more interested/excited.

Patricia Scales

Hi Carlos,
I agree! The know exactly what is expected when an example is shared.

Patricia Scales

I couldn't agree more when I've shown students samples of assignments their interests are raised, which makes grading easier.

Showing the students the coarse is relevent to the field they will work in is extremely important. It validates why they should show up everyday to class as well as why they shouldbe involved in class. As it will benifit their future.

This way they are fully aware of the expectation of that work

Hi Janet,
Great clarity is added when students can see exactly what it is they need to do.
