Hi Curtis,
I concur! The majority of students are visual learners. If they can see how it is done; they can do it.

i my line of work , showing students how to perform the required welds is a must ! some students do well being told how to do things , but the big majority have to be shown many times as they are progressing !
Hi Nancy,
Absolutely! Students have a better understanding when they can see an actual example.

Showing examples of other students work helps to clarify for the students what is expected of them.

Visual aids help for kinestetic learners! It also allows students to see exactly what you are requiring of them. Students need examples to guide them through the learning of some activities. It helps them get an idea of the assignment they are to complete.
Hi Hugo,
Things are clearer to students when they can see what is expected of them.
Patricia Scales
Having a clear understand of what they need and how to get started is very helpful. Knowing this would allow every student to finish their work and would have very little excuse as to why it would be late.
Hi James,
Students love it when you share an example with them so that they know exactly what is expected of them. The student's work that is being shown is extremely proud.

Showing examples of students work is great to show off your current students work to give them a sense of pride, as well as show present students what should be accomplished. When showing students work remember to remove the students name or identifing marks.
Hi Terry,

They need a clear vision of what is expected and what can be attained. It is equally important to show how common mistakes lead to substandard work.
I think that if I can gauge their ability especialy since group project or project in general carry a high percentage in the overall grade it will help me focus on the areas of weakness.
I had never thought about showing the students the work without them knowing if it is quality work or not. I like this idea. I think, I could also get a better gauge of where they are.
It's important for a number of reasons. I think that it certainly helps them understand what is expected of them first of all. If they don't understand exactly what the course is about it will lay it all out for them in other forms that maybe they understand better.
Hi Jeff,
For most students, if they can see an example, they have a better understanding. In the industry we teach in the majority of our students are visual learners.

More and more students are visual learners, showing examples of the work they will be doing gives them a much clearer understanding of the expectations and improves student satisfaction with their work.
Hi Yolanda,
