Anette,
It is about finding the right fit for both the student and the institution.
Anette,
Both the enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract.
Richard,
You bring an important point of acronyms. The also need to be defined.
Michael,
The notebook is a great way to keep the important items at hand. Add any additional resources to make your notebook effective.
Joy,
Make the notebook work for you! Add any additional material that can improve your resources.
Amy,
Thank you for your post. Accreditation is a very important term that is often misinterpreted.
Michael,
The notebook is a great place to keep all your materials in one.
I too had a resource type hand book but now it has been replaced with a new style to follow along with better detail.
accredidation, enrollment agreement
The Resource Notebook is such a great tool to using during while working in admissions. Since things are every changing the book stays updated. I have started to include things such as the definitions and copies of the of the statutes for my state. I can see this being very helpful.
What a great way to stay organized! Being organized by creating the resource notebook will also ensure correct information being portrayed to prospective students.
enrolled,
Fut Stu, a student that has enrolled but has not started yet.
An enrollment agreement is a vital agreement contract between the student and the institution to be signed by both parties before the commencement of any program. It is also a legally binding contract, which constitutes all terms and policies for both parties.
Yes,it is important to make the conection with the student to fully determine the fit for the program and school. There are prospects who come in and after explaining the different programs, they decide that what they originally choose to do is not really for them.
Presently, we do not have a Resource Notebook. I have discovered that compiling this information in a single location (notebook) will assist me in easy access for the vital information necessary.
I have discovered that there are far more rules and regulations required by my school for compliance than I previously realized.
Some of the commonly used terms used during admission process on our campus are Enrollment, Enrollment Agreement, Program, Scholarship
Enrollment Agreement- Contract that is given to the student to sign which includes all terms and policies of our school.
Program- All seven programs that are offered at our institution. Gemology, Art and Handcraft, Stone Setting, Bead Stringing, Jewelry Long Program, Wax and Casting, Appraisal Program
Methods of payments, Cancellation and refund policy, grounds for termination, graduation requirements, employment assistance, acknowledgement
Having a place to go for all important updates and regulations will be extemely helpful and will save time and be less stressful for our Admissions Reps. to locate exactly what they need when they need it. Great idea. We will be putting together all our resources into one Resource Notebook today!
As our department grows, the Resource Notebook will be such a valuable tool in the training of new employees.
I've printed out pretty much all of the things you have for the notebook on your webpage, its pretty helpful. Actually I was surprised of all the information I actually have in my memory of Admission policies and procedures after being in this business for over 10 years. The course is a good exercise for experienced staff members as well as new.
