Nicole,
Continue to add to your notebook. Be creative!
I added to my notebook the information about the refund policy. Some of the refund policy may not be returned to the student for example, pre-testing fees are non-refundable.
Iagree the respurce notbook is an excellent tool;0)
I'm updating my resource notebook as we speak! Great tool!
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admission process at my institution are "Accreditation and transferable credits."
Some of the terms and definitions are Enrollment Agreement: A legally binding contract signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel.
Institution: Any college, university or postsecondary career institution under the jurisdiction of the Commission for Independent education.
Scholarship:A grant in aid to a student.
I agree its a great tool to have and use on a daily basis
I am new to the Admissions field and I am quickly finding that a lot of the terms & definitions mentioned in this training are being used regularly within my department. I printed the Terms & Definitions page from this training module & I know it will be a valuable resource. I believe one of the most important terms to understand is accreditation. Many prospective students have concerns about whether or not a program/degree is accredited.
That is very similiar to how I have done things at my campus
I have placed many differant items in the resource notebook. I like to llok at it as a procedures manial because it has anything and everything to keep us compliant, and is available at all times for their review
Currently I am developing the notebook with the enrollment agreement, catalog, advertising and any new procedures. Will this be a site inspection item?
Here are several examples;
Specialized Training - Provides our students focus on training in one area of expertise.
Advisory Board - Employers suggest changes and modifications to meet local workforce needs.
Career Services - Matches the graduate to the right career opportunity
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process are enrollment agreement, prerequisites, and application process. These terms are commonly used and are defined by creating more awareness for the student. Are there terms and definitions specific to licensure or certification in the enrollment process?
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process at our institution are enrollment agreement, application process, prerequisites, these are all required by our students. The overall definition would be ensuring that the applicants have met all requirements before, during, and after enrollment. Are there specific guidelines with other issues like licensing or certification?
Some of the common terms and definitions that I have heard our admissions staff use during the admissions process include: complete application, costs, correspondence learning, credit for prior learning, distance education, distance learning, enrollment, first professional degree, nondegree, on-line courses, program, scholarship, and transcript. Being that a large number of our continuing education programs are offered on-line, many of those terms fit our process!
Darbel,
Thank you for your post.
Traci,
Good luck in obtaining licensure. You are off to a terrific start.
Dabel,
It is very important to keep current. The resource notebook is a great place to keep your important reference materials.
Our school is in the process of being licensed, so everything is new to me. I wrote the handbood so i am very familiar with our rules and regulations. I didn't know that we should keep a resource notebook. This was great way to get a head start for survey.
I love my "everything" book....that's what keeps me focused and on track with the info my students need!
