Kimberly,
That is an excellent mantra to follow.
We also a link on our website for O*net so the student can just go to that website for even more information.
They have specific guidlines that we have to adhere to to remoain accedited
Everything we do is mandated per CIE and followed precisely to stay compliant
Recently, we have had to update our school's catalog due to the CIE requirements. While we were mostly in compliance already, we had to make a few additions to the catalog. We also email a link to the catalog to accepted students, with their acceptance email, to be sure the information is readily available to them, as required by the CIE.
Ginny,
Many companies can not pay salaries as we had hoped. It is ll about what you can bring to the company and what they are willing to pay.
Not only is every area different but in the beauty and wellness field it is also the personality, interaction with people in general, ethical practices, and fianancial status for the area you are living will also be a factor in how much $ a person can make in a certain field....and right now people are watching what they spend so incomes are very varible particularly in programs where there is no set salary.
Buddy
Charles,
It is about providing accurate resources to your students so as not to mislead.
As the course pointed out, as admissions agents, we are required to adhere to Fair Marketing Practices and must fully inform potential students of all things related to the course content, transfer of credits and job placement assistance.
Jason,
We are only as good as the strength of the group as a whole. One broken link takes away from all. We all must work together in compliance.
Ruth,
Your school is on the road to compliance and success.
CIE requirements are good guidelines...although I believe they are consistent with the ethics and disclosure of information provided by our college and would therefore be practiced anyway. It's always nice to have an umbrella to refer to when questions arise.
Marilyn,
Testimonials are a great way to keep in touch with alumni and a great resource for new students.
CIE's requirements, rules and regulations gives you a clear and concise path that must be followed in order to remain a licensed school with an emphasis on fair consumer practices. This ensures that every school is being held to the highest standards and is operating the same way with regards to CIE's rules and regulations. How I perform my job will be directly related to these rules and regulations, and knowing those rules is essential in the performance of my job. Each action I take regarding students will be influenced by these rules.
I also feel that it is important that everyone in my organization works together with one goal in mind: to help and ensure that each and every student achieves their goals and dreams of learning a new employable skill, using the rules set forth by CIE to accomplish this goal.
By following all rules and regulations the admissions process go very smoothly. When asking about salaries, I have had permission from some of my graduates that they can even call them, and they will tell them what they are earning
Nicole,
It protects the students and the school.
Craig,
You have touched upon the reason why we are in this industry.
I have to agree with everything that the CIE are putting in place in order to help the institution select the appropriate candidates for these programs and mandating annual reviews of the institution admission policies.
They are esential to make sure that we are doing our job correctly and providing correct information to our students.
The way that CIE requirements affect how you perform your job as an admissions representative or agent are simple. If you stay up on all the rules and regulations, even proposals you will never have to worry about "Am I doing the right things?" Admissions or agent positions are a direct liaison of the University what we say and the way we carry ourselves reflect the University in many ways. You have to have that passion about your career to be really good at it. It's an intangle thing that once you grasp it will never leave you.
