I find that it makes my job easier, knowing all the rules and regulations, and being held accountable for my actions as an admissions representative. Make my job pretty straight forward.
Shyam,
We have to make sure all information is true and correct so as not to mislead.
Because that we know the commission for Independent Education is right behind us, we make more effort in the taks we perform.
The BLS is a good tool. However, it does not match your institutions current degree programs with salaries. The site provides generic information. For example, a degree in Health Administration at my institution, may not be the same degree offered by your institution. That is why you should encourage the student to research the possible careers he/she may want and align this research with the degree he/she is seeking.
The Commission regulatory requirements should be followed at all times. We should not talk to students about potential salaries they may earn based on their degree. When it comes to salary expectations and jobs that graduates can apply for,my institution requires we direct students to O*NET. This site provides students with detail information, based on our degree programs.

The Commission for Independent Education requirements is a guideline or structure on how to address students concerns and questions. I feel that it is essential to have compliance apart of the guidelines for current policy knowledge.
It is true, however this should never be against the wishes of the student. We propose the best options based on student needs, and adherence to internal rules and state law.
It's important to stay informed of Commission rules so accurate information is passed on to the prospective students. Additionally, when it comes to current salaries of positions for which students will be applying, I ask that prospective students talk with those who are currently in the field. Cosmetology students are required to interview cosmetologists to learn more about current opportunities and what it's like performing job requirements on a daily basis.

The Commission for Independent Education regulates definitely the way that the admissions representatives should handle the tools, messages, rules and regulations necessary to propose and deliver education services. Our management conditions, protecting the interests of prospect students and creates the necessary space for the negotiation between both sides is carried out under favorable conditions.
I do not think that the Commission for Independent Education affects negatively the work of the admissions representative, I think that norm It.
The management part of the admissions representative in an environment that allows healthy advice, guiding the process in a logical and consistent order for both parties. You need a body like this to regulate the function we have.
By following the rules the public is protected and we are able to perform our duties correctly
Make it a weekly visit to the website and monitor more closely with the office staff.
We must ensure that as admissions reps that we do not create conflicts of interest or do not state information that is misleading to prospective students.
Ghislane,
It is protection for all...the student and the school.
It affects you in a way where you have to follow by the rules that the CIE have implemented and you have to stay sharp and stay informed
It helps. It give us more tools, enables us to provide better information to prospective studets, and helps us set better expectations.
Kevin,
Accreditation requirements are above the requirements of CIE. CIE comes first.
Tiffany,
This is a very good practice. Make sure everyone is using the most current catalog approved by CIE.
