Benjamin,
They are the enforcement and protector of nonpublic postsecondary education in Florida.

Melanie,
Well stated!

Jennifer,
Good communication links are essential.

Maribeth,
CIE is your regulatory body which licenses the institution to operate in Florida.

The Commission for Independent Education is a guide to do our jobs ethically and professionally as well as maintain uprightness and confidence.

We constantly have to be mindful of regulatory requirements to make sure we are doing the right thing for and by the student and our organization. We meet weekly as a team and if there are any new regulations we definitely discuss and make sure we are complying. Also emails go out to the admissions staff for any updates or changes to dialogue.

The Commission for Independent Education provides rules and regulations under which we are allowed to operate, most notably through Fair Consumer Practices. This ensures that we as an institution, as well as individual employees, are providing the best possible services for our students

The CIE is a regulatory body in which governs the way agents and reps interact with potential students. The CIE helps the agent or rep to remain in compliance and perform their job as effectively as possible. The guidlines to which the CIE set forth are put in place to protect not only the student but the agent and rep the same.

Without these such perameters how would the educational body fair? Would the industry be at a free for all, everyone doing as they please and not be held accountable. I believe that is exactly how it would be, so therefore the CIE and it's rule and regulations will allow for the agent and rep to effectively perform via a guide that is ideal for the student and the employee.

The CIE is the regulartory body which basically outlines how things should be done. This being ethically sound, would allow an agent or representative to be as effective as possible. These guidlines keep the student safe and the representative safe, by specifically following them. As with the process of an enrollment for the student, there are forms that must be filled out in such order to make the enrollment correct. well, the CIE has a set of information that must be followed, discussed and presented to each enrolling student to be in compliance. This and only this will allow for the agent or rep to be in compliance and effective.

Lisa,
Exactly! They protect both the institution and the student.

Christopher,
Excellent! It's a win-win.

R.,
Well put!

Melanie,
Make sure that the student has the ability to see the actual documents from which the information is drawn.

Andrea,
Bad perceptions are based upon either wrong knowledge or lack of. Regulations protect all.

Tyler,
Compliance is everyday, every moment, everywhere.

Stefanie,
Caution is your guide. New programs are exciting but you are unable to provide an institutional history.

Andrew,
The regs are there to protect both the school and the student. Good business practices will ensure that.

Adrienne,
The regs protect both the student and the school through Fair Consumer Practices.

These requirements keep me compliant. I always err on the side of caution, and choose my words carefully. As far as salary ranges, my institution only provides a disclosure of what salaries are made by our graduates from our particular location...and that's a long process to obtain that information. Our location has just implemented new programs with changes to the courses and credit hours to begin for our next start. This means, since these are brand new programs, no one has graduated from them from our location. Therefore will not have any information on our salary disclosure until we have a graduating class.

David,
Discussing salaries is a very dangerous road and can easily mislead the student.
