Julissa,
It provides you specific guidelines to remain compliant and work with integrity.

Dulce,
The rules protect both the student and the school.

Cheryl,
It is very important that we remain compliant and ethical in our operations.

Tina,
The Bureau of Labor Statistics is a great placce to start. Additional reseach will need to be done for local statistics.

I feel that the CIE has set forth standards for the employers to adhere to so the representatives are educated and are in compliance. An understanding of the rules and regulations will assist me in remaining compliant while assisting students.

It defines specific information that identifies clearly how and what it means to be compliant as a representative.

CIE ensure that our guidlines are in compliance for our consumers, which allow us to represnt our schools with higher standards

The CIE helps us to stay informed and to effectively assist our students and potential students by staying within all guidelines in a proper manner, the way that education should be.

I see where we may be able to discuss job opportunities in an industry being taught, however, no discussions of salary. I do not discuss specific job opportunities and rarely mentioned unless a student specifically ask. Even then, I encourage the student to research in newspapers, internet, and business publications. This is a suject that could be misunderstood.

Tammy,
Well said!

Dennis,
Keep on learning!

Dennis,
Integrity ad honesty speak volumes.

Carolyn,
The rules and laws protect both the student and the school. It's a win-win.

Stephanie,
Ethics is our guidance, rules gives us the map.

Brad,
Exactly! That is considered misleading the student.

there are no garauntees expressed or implied with regard to salaries and or salary ranges

Like any regulatory agency, the CIE is in place to make sure that schools are using fair practices in recruiting and admitting students. I never think of how they affect my job performance because I wouldn't think of doing my job any other way. It's the way I've learned it.
They make sure we follow the federal rules for education in the profit world.

to always stay complient within the institution.

It really doesnt because my institution sets high standards for its representatives. So i utilize high ethics anyways for my students and to keep my job.

I think that it is important that your prospective students understand the regulations as well. I can't count how many times I have had a snide comment that we're all about money because we are a for-profit and we care nothing about educating our students. I'm very quick to, respectfully, explain that although we are a different type of institution, not everyone fits into a specific mold for education. Everyone learns differently and that if we did not follow rules and regulations that are set upon us, we would not be an institution at all. I also reference the websites that have the regulations on them.
