I think this is all great advice! I am firm believer in organzation and having important information readily available! I can't wait to create my Resource Notebook.
I have created my Resource Notebook to include dividers so I can separate each different area that I am learning over the coarse of the next few days. I started by printing out the "Creating and Using a Resource Notebook", next the Agents/Adminissions Reps Regulartory Laws/Rules, and lastly so far the "Using the Notebook as a Reference Guide".
With reference to the "didn't know" would be that an agent is NOT a counselor which means I am not an academic advisor, to which to advise students while they are in training, obtain information from students about their effectiveness of training, nor aid in vacation placement of the trainee.
I have found that my University provides me with an excellent tool taht covers all the informations for the student. It is also something the student can take with him or her.But is contains cost, couse shedules, and policies, etc.
The Ohio rules and regulations
The difference between agent and admissions representative, also how you are not allowed
to solicit students from other schools
I am totally new to this, so I have printed all that has been available so far. Administrative Rules for the State Board of Career Colleges and schools, Overview & Requirements of Agent Training Program, Terms and Definitions, Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules, and the Creating and Using a REsource Notebook.
I am learning a lot, there are a lot of phrases I am learning to avoid and a lot I am learning to say. I am new to the industry so I am sure I am going to learn much, much more. The resource book is going to be great in assisting me with everything I need to absorb.I had no idea there were so many regulations.
There are several things that I have placed in my Resource Notebook. I have placed a copy of my Complicance and FAQ's specific to my instituion. This helped me to dicover what institution we received our accredidation from and also other procedures specific to my location. I have also placed guides for appointment setting and helpful hints for giving interviews. My resource notebook includes every important document or note I have taken throughout my training along with copies of all curriculums provided by my location. This has helped me to become familiar with each program so I can give students all the correct information they need in reagards to their education.
I have placed the regulatory laws/regulations in my Resource Notebook along with training documentation and marketing materials. I can quickly access something when it is needed.
I think its important to have a resource notebook in order to review the material or refer back to the material as needed. It will help me as an admission rep to stay up to date.
I have printed and included terms and definitions in my notebook. I have also added the Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory laws/rules. I have learned that all agents must obtain an agent's permit from the board, and complete continuing education annually. Also learned that agents can't initiate contact with student who are enrolled at another school.
I have added several sections of our school catalog. It really helps me to be able to have the accurate knowledge of my school and the guidelines students must abide by and the rights of our students.
I am a new agent and I have not really started putting together the resource notebook until I cam eto this website. I just printed out the important information I needed such as information about school, school catalog, school enrollment, marketing plans, and etc..
I have discover some of the same rules and guideline as I have seen here. This is includes needing a permit to contact students, how each school is responsible to the actions of it's students, and how a agent cannot mislead or misrepresent any information to prospective students.
I have in my resource notebook the ethical code of conduct for agents. I discovered that an agent permit is only valid for a maximum of one year from the date it is issued. I also learned that agent permits must be renewed annually and will be valid for a maximum of thirty days after expiration provided that the school is taking the steps necessary to renew the permit.
Hello! So far in my Resource Notebook I have the course guides/cheat sheets for all the programs we offer, the can say/can't say, and pieces of the Handbook that I found of value. The first page is Sullivan University System's Admissions Department Code of Conduct. I felt like it was important to have that as my basis for moral standing.
The rules and regualtions that are within the Handbook and the Code of Conduct are pretty straightforward. They are easy to understand and I have not had any questions about them.
My Resource Notebook contains a copy of the rules, statutes and regulations provided through this course. I am in the process of creating my Resource Notebook and so far have also included items such as school policies and rules located in our catalog, links to current details regarding tuition, graduation, and other relevant details.
is there an electronic notebook example avaiable or app for ipad????
I put the Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Law and Rules Packet.
My Resource book contains a student catalog, (which my school had no hard copies, only on-line)school enrollment agreement and organizational chart. (I used a three-ring binder, not file folders).
I didn't realize that the state approved training course does not end with certification: periodically agents must complete continuing education.
I have placed our school catalog, a separate copy of our accreditation and our employee structure into my notebook. I have also placed separate brochures for different degree programs.
We have training every week and as an outside rep, I take information with me always, so I haven't really learned anything new by constructing a new notebook.
I will be placing the laws, rules, statutes into my Resource notebook. Along with the organizational chart, programs that our school has. It's important to be an expert at so many things as an admissions rep, so being prepared to answer any and all questions that potential students and parents have is necessary.
