I placed the section of the Ohio Revised in my resource notebook that governs for-profit educational institutions. One thing I learned was the fact that people soliciting the school must be empoyees of the institution. They cannot be a third party.

I printed all information of the Rules and Laws and each individual section off the Resource Notebook checklist.

Have just started to put together the Resource Notebook and am in the process of compiling information that is being furnished to me by the Dirrector.

I can see where the resource notebook will be a big benefit to any admissions rep. and I will certainly be putting one together.

I have placed a copy of the Agent/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules in my notebook. I have also added a copy of our school catalog and additional school resources.
So far, most of what I have learned has been either familiar or not a surprise based on the requirements of the position.

Has anyone figured out how to keep an electronic resource notebook...effectively?

As a representative for the University that I am employed with, I agree that "I need to be an expert" when speaking with prospective studetns, thier family and friends. The information that I have added to my "Resource Notebook" includes; Admissions requirments,Accredidation information, Types of tuition assistance that we offer and the steps on how too access them, a list of our degree programs, Tuition cost, etc. What information did you include in your rescource book, that you found helpful?

When researching information about the University I found that I did not know much about Financial Aid and what the steps are to obtain it. I did have to contact a financial aid representative to inform me more about this payment option. This way I will be more prepared to answer questions that a propective student may have if he or she were planning to use financial aid.

Chad, I also found it interesting of all of our different accreditations that Harrison has. I was surprised to see that each state was so different in what they required.

Our school catalogis the main thing that I have in my resource notebook. I like that our catalog has our Mission Statement. It is a good way to show our students what we value and what a student can expect.

I have copied each of the sections the course recommended and placed them in my Resource Notebook. Much of the information was new to me. I think the real challenge will be to keep the information updated.

The information that I have included in my resource notebook are the overview and requirements of agent training program, terms and definitions, agents/admissions reps regulatory laws/rules, creating and using a resource notebook, and using a notebook and a reference guide. I have learned that sometimes employees other than agents and admissions representatives do help with the paperwork and the enrollment process of a student but they are not required to have a license because they are not in direct contact with the student.

The resource notebook is a great idea. My team and I try to be equipped with all the current information. The resource notebook actually gave me a different idea in how to be more prepared and organized at events.

Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, Compliance Forums and Info re our programs.. To be updated continuously
Thank you

My resource/training notebook includes detailed outlines with screen shots of the computer system I will be using; along with outlines of course requirements, schedules and pricing of those courses. I will also now include the information received in this training.

I can see where having this type of notebook will prove to be very beneficial.

I am brand new to this, but I'm looking to add the following:

Org Chart(s)
The Agents Regulatory Laws/Rules
The Enrollment Agreement
Marketing Materials
Policies and Procedures
Course Catalogues
Fact Sheets
..and any of my day-to-day items that I will be using regularly in regards to interactions with students.

Still learning about the rules and regulations, but having this Resource Notebook has been great to build a solid foundation with - and add information to as needed.

My Resource Notebook includes a copy of the states rules and regulations that is provided from the course. It also includes our University's marketing material for each program, a copy fo the curiculum guidelines, as well as several course catalogs.
I can't say that there is anything in regards to my institutions rules and regulations that I did not already know. We have weekly trainings that allow us to stay current on our institutions rules and regulations and recruiting practices.

I have placed several items in my Resource Notebook. A copy of the Regulatory Laws/Rules, the college's catalog, an enrollment agreement, an organizational chart, and several pieces of the college's marketing materials are included in my notebook.

By reading the rules and regulations I have discovered that I will need to renew my permit annually to be an admissions representative.

I have to agree with you Megan, because of the differences in state regulations on what can be said to students note taking helps burn that into memory. I often have post-it notes with the state and the more difficult things to remember printed on it.

I have found that renewal information is valuable to have as well in your resource notebook. Several states have different requirements and making sure that all of those are up to date is crucial to staying compliant.

Kathlene,

You would have to had a new comment in the thread. I don't believe you can add to your original comment. Does that make sense?
