I have all of our Program Info as well as course curriculums. Have info about the school, this campus and our other sites.Have a current catalog, info about Career Services Tutoring and other student services. All important calendar dates for the current school year.Have a good "show and tell" tool to help with possible new students.

I have my course catalog in my resources. It helps me to be able discribe in detail the classes that my students will have to take along with any prerequisites that might be required. I have discovered that there are different requirements in a lot of states. There are a lot of rules that apply to grants and financial aid.

I have reworked a resource notebook after completing this section. I think it is important to have the Catalog, enrollment agreements, and Enrollment steps.

I also learned the difference between agent and counselor.

I definetly think that the resource notebook is a great idea. There is so much information that it is sometimes difficult to remember everything. It would be nice to have something you can refer to on a daily basis.

Here are some items I've included in my Resource Notebook:
1. My training manual
2. Unitersity's Catalog
3. Enrollment Agreement
4. Individual Program info
5. Start and Grad dates
6. Costs of programs, cost per credit and semester and the entire program
7. Student handbook
8. Student services
9. HOusing contact info
10.Career services
11.Policy and Procedures of rules and regulations of agents
12.Organizational chart

Some information i have in my notebook is my admissions rep manual, school catolog, and info i have printed from our intronet site on admissions compliance.

Keeping a resource notebook is a great idea to have all the websites you can access with great information all in one place.

Over time I have put together a resource notebook ccontaining current edtions of the
state catalogs with the current state laws and
regulations. This also includes updated memos and training mauuals. Since I work as a global
admissions counselor, it is imperative that I
have access to the current offerings and regulations from state to state to efficiently
and accurately serve our potential students.

I have placed the current Chancellor University Catalog in my notebook and learned about how the school operates and what it has to offer.

I actually have 2 resource notebooks. One from corporate office and one from my local office in Salt Lake City. All told there are about 200 pages of material that helps me be an effective source of accurate information to my prospective students.

To those notebooks I have added a current course catalog and have spent much time learing the ins and outs of the different degrees and certificates we offer.

I have also added another section of material regarding specific states and the different rules that exist in each state.

One fact that I was surprised to learn regarding certain degrees and online vs in class instruction is some specific degrees cannot be taught in physical classes in some states, and can only be taught online. I am still in the process of learning the different states and different degrees and why this is. It is obviously going to be a process to learn all these things but I am committed to having all these facts at my disposal so I can best serve my potential students.

As a recent addition to Strayer Universities Admissions Department, I have been accumulating several documents and pieces of information in my Resource Notebook.

The most effective materials for me, at this point, are documents (course catalog, school policies, information on tuition, etc.) regarding Strayer University. Giving students proper, accurate and compliant information is a huge priority. Having quick access to these materials is essential for not only guiding the student in the proper direction, but also maintaining the highest standards that Strayer expects of all of its employees.

A bio is an excellent idea! I think this would be great to include in your resource notebook especially for new students.

I am also very aware of the rules and regulations by which my institution abides, but it is also very nice to have a resource notebook for any new changes to any rules or regulations.

I added to my notebook that the school and/or the agent must submit a completed application for agent permit.

I have placed the information learned about when I need to take continuing classes, Information on correct verbiage I need to utilize (counselor vs agent). It was interesting to me to learn about how the words that we use can affect how we do our jobs.

Is it okay to use a folder or should I use a 3 ring binder?

It is so important to keep your notebook in a safe place.

It definitely helps when I question something because there is so much to remember.

I have added the terms and definitions section as well as Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules as I see myself referencing them as a refresher.

I like the idea of a resouce notebook. I think part of that is the the school catalog. The catalog could give a lot of information that could help the agent and the student. The notebook needs to be updated on a regular basis because regulation does change very often.

I did not know as much about the graduation rate as I did after I read that information.
