Humberto,
It's actually nice to have both formats. The computer will serve searching and mobility the paper cannot give you. Paper gives you the ability to write on it and have that cross-referencing that you may need.

Steven,
Doesn't it feel great? Organization is time efficient and gives you the necessary documents when you need them.
Patty Aronoff
Nancy,
Excellent! You've got a great process as well as the backup plan.
Patty Aronoff
Sandra,
Three ring binders give you the flexibility of adding and removing documents as needed. It also gives you the flexibility to move things around when It just doesn't feel right.
Patty Aronoff
Zacharie,
Excellent news! You will find that organization is the leader in providing compliance.
Patty Aronoff
Moises,
Organization gives you efficiency and focus. When you're focused on the job at hand not trying to assemble paperwork or looking for lost files you have become efficient at what you were doing.
Patty Aronoff
Michele,
We love check lists! Checkless keep this on the right path for completion and compliance.

I utilize a checklist while administering the admissions process. I find this method not only keeps me organized but it also makes it easier for my colleagues to assess what documents are missing to close out the file. I also color code the respective programs as I find this simplifies the filing process.
Similar to others I like to orginize the paper work, with color coding, alfabetical order and or by program of interest. Helps me be more up to date, and of course more orginized. :)
I am extremely organized and I find myself learning and creating better techniques on a daily basis. I have a different file for each student along with their internships, administrative work, labs, and lecture information. Also, I have color coded tabs that help me and my colleges communicate better. For example if I place a red tab that means my CEO must review or my green tab mean my CFO must review. It works GREAT!
You have to organize everything in a resource Notebook
Computers are playing a very important role in having organized all the information you need, so you can look for a specific information faster.
its great to have everything organized
I am using a folder in the computer with the name of the course. Then, I created a subfolder for all the legal documentation papers (all the rules), when required, they will be replaced by new ones if they have been modified.
Also I have a backup in the cloud, just in case something happens to my computer.
I have created a 3 ring binder will all of the information so I can reference to it as needed. It is helping me very much.
Hi Patty,
Literally, Maria did an awesome description based on paper works organization and information regarding completing the admissions training. Basically, the classification of the paper works could be done by alphabetical order, last names, and numbers as well.
Throughout the years I have learned that in order to be effective, one really needs to be organized. There are so many facets, this varies by institution, to the admissions process and the role of the advisor. Errors can be made that at times can be detrimental for the student as well as the advisor. This leads to a healthy fear of wanting to be upright and on top of your potential student/students file.
I use a student forms and applications checklist that is on the front of every binder for each student. The checklist is divided into sections with the various forms required for admission. As I receive the completed docs, I put them in the binder and check that it has been received. This has proved to a very successful way to ensure that each student has all the required forms completed without having to peruse the whole file.
Regina,
Checking students or paperwork by spreadsheet is an excellent way to keep track of the status. Excel replaces the old checklist that we have commonly used in office management.
Patty Aronoff
Excel comes in handy for me. I keep track that way
