It is very important to have on hand all the necessary information and the time to sit down with prospects documents.
At our institution we also use a checklist.
Katie,
You're providing a great customer service. Students want to know that they are valued and are of interest beyond the initial enrollment day.
Patty Aronoff
I agree. Every week, I follow up with my students to let them know that their schedules have been processed, uniforms have been ordered or received, and their books have been ordered or received. Also, I invite them back into the campus to take their picture for their ID or something else to ensure commitment on their part.
Lisa,
Checklists are the right tools to have. Checklist assist us in following each process the same way, every time.
Patty Aronoff
Susan,
It is nice to have a system that tracks the leads and make sure that we are on top of our game. There are several programs out there to help us in maintaining the leads and contacting the students.
Patty Aronoff
Cheryl,
Digital files provide easy access to several people. It also ensures that records are being kept long term.
Patty Aronoff
Adalinda,
Excellence for the process! You are following every step of the way in ensuring compliance. Making sure the files are complete and then converting to electronic files provide safety of the information.
Patty Aronoff
ALICIA,
Checklists are a great way to track compliance. You can quickly see what is missing and what has been completed.
Patty Aronoff
I can see that a check list is a must have! I am formulating one as we speak!!
We have purchased the STARS system to ensure that all required information is collected. The system also tracks leads and maintains a list of tasks to remind the user of what is missing.
We also keep a digital copy of the checklist for each applicant so that everyone in the process will know exactly what has or has not been completed.
Once an applicant has been formally accepted into our college, they are scheduled for an enrollment appointment. During the enrollment appointment we have a file that we have created prior to their arrival that included a checklist of the items/step to be completed as well all needed paperwork. When the enrollment process is completed files are transferred to our Registrar Department who tracks leads from official enrollment to graduation. The original paper files are kept in a fire safe storage space until they are converted to electronic files.
Enrollment process at our school is done with a check off list.
michael,
Auditing should be part of every school's procedure. A second review is imperative in insuring compliance.
Patty Aronoff
Nicholas,
Very thorough! You are providing a excellent pathway to their future.
Patty Aronoff
Sonise ,
Checklists are a great tracking device for compliance. It's a best practice.

I use a checklist and have Campus President audit when complete.
Our enrollment process consists of the following:
1. Students complete an admission application and pay the application fee.
2. A one on one review of the admissions requirements is performed and explained. They consist of:
a. A copy of their high school diploma, GED and/or college transcripts
b. Entrance exam and minimum passing score review
c. Statement of general health
d. Immunization records and/or titers
3. The entrance exam is scheduled and taken.
4. Following submission of all required documents and upon successful completion of the entrance exam, the information is reviewed and the applicant meets with an academic planner.
5. All students are scheduled for a panel interview after which the enrollment agreement is reviewed.
6. Upon acceptance, orientation dates are provided and the prepared enrollment agreement is signed. A review of the curriculum, catalog and campus tour are performed during orientation and class schedules are distributed.
We maintain an open door policy with students and are available for any questions/concerns/comments throughout the entire process.
The application has a checklist. I go over the checklist with the student to be sure they understand everything. I make sure they are aware of important deadlines also. Students can sometimes feel overwhemled at the first visit.
