The resource notebook is a brilliant way of keeping admissions representatives current with any updates that will arise. The more organized you are from the jump, the easier it becomes to update information as it may change industry wide from time to time.

I am in the beginning stage of the process of putting my resource notebook together. Right now I have all of the information from the training website printed off, I have my school catalog, various policy papers, and I plan on inserting a page to remind me that I need to have all of the school statistics printed off for the last three years and that I need to keep a student’s enrollment sheet on file for at least five years even if they cancel. If you have any other suggestions about what I should add it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Danielle

I think having a resource notebook is a great idea. I plan to use mine to form a sort of trouble shooting guide with a wide variety of organized information that I can access whenever I need to.

I have placed the print outs of the required rules and laws in my resource notebook. I think it is a great idea because I now have one place where I can easily reference a given rule or regulation. I did learn that even out of state school representatives fall under the jurisdiction of Ohio career school regulators.

I loved this idea! This can be a very powerful tool when speaking to students about your institution. I believe admissions reps should be experts in their fields. Students may have many questions related to programs or admissions requirements. I have placed information about the programs we have to offer our students. I also did not know that I had to keep a copy of my recruiting policies and procedures and that I may have to present it to the Board if asked.

I have been putting together a resource notebook throughout my training in my current position. So the added information that this course is providing will be a great addition to my resource notebook. I already have all my schools information and policies, as well as program details. I actually have a couple notebook do to the amount of information I am adding to my resource notebook(s).

I have put in my resource notebook that any of my negative actions affects not only myself but of the school as well

I have not constructed one but working on it.

I copied every page and I'm going to put it all in my note book. i also learned that you need to stay abreast of new and changing laws and regulations.

My resource notebook includes the instituitons policies and procedures, my training notes, a course catalog, the intitution's mission statement, information on the admissions process, I also have resources needed in my position handy incase I need them. I learned a lot in my training about the instuition, rules and regulations but we are always constantly evolving so it is important to keep notes and up-to-date memos on policies and procedures.

I have placed a copy of the Terms and Definitions along with a copy of the Agents/Admissions regulatory Laws/Rules in my Resource Notebook.

I have not learned anything new with regards to the rules and regulations we must abide by.

The Overview and Requirements of Agent Training program. That a copy of the enrollment agreement must be furnished to the studentat the time the agreement is completed.

Right now, just the printed pages from the first module. Overview and Requirements, Terms and Definitions,Regulatory Laws/Rules, Creatin and Using a Resource Notebook, and Using the Notebook as a Reference Guide. The school catalog is always on my desk, so I didn't put that in.

So far I have placed the Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules from the training along with a current copy of list of Directors/ employees, a copy of the employee handbook that contains the links to all our policies and proceedures and a current copy of our school's catalogue. I have already completed a good portion of our school's traning and have been learning quite a bit about the regulations through that and this training. I am not surprised by how highly regulated the school is. I haven't learned anything that I didn't expect so far. It makes sense to have these rules and regulations and the majority seem to be common sense.

I have a multitude of information in my Resource Notebook and find it to be a very useful tool. I wanted to start with basics, so the first thing I put into it was the list of applicable laws and regulations from the previous information. Next is a series of pamphlets and brochures provided by the college featuring various information. These include; an application for enrollment, the programatic disclosure form, the tuition cost form, and a pamphlet with features and benefits of attending the school.
I learned a few things while reading over the rules and regulations. For instance, I didn't know there was a difference between an agent and an admissions representative. I was also unaware that the college can not use a separate entity for the admission process; that the only person who can solicit the college is the admissions representative him or herself.
What are some other good forms or information to have included in my resource notebook?

Great info and will have it at my finger tips, just in case! GOOD STUFF!

I agree, this is a great reference tool that allows you to access needed updated information efficiently. I particularly enjoy the organizational chart due to this allows me to assist prospective students with program information in helping with updates, and also job placement information.

Like the many others that have have responded, I think that having a resource notebook is a valuable asset. It will continue to aid in the training of new admission reps. I believe it will keep me up to date with many aspects in my job! Great Idea!

I agree. It's very helpful to have all the important information in one location.

I currently have not made a notebook, however I have printed off the information from this module. As well as the other information that was part of this module.

I didn't realize if you are an out of state school you need to still abide by the laws of the state that you are pursing. I am very interested to find out more information!
