Having a notebook is a great way to stay on top of your game.
So far I have all the Agent/Admission Reps Laws and Rules, definitions of admission terms used by Ohio State Board of Career Schools and Colleges, the school's course catalog, and a copy of the school's enrollment documents in my resource notebook.
I have been working at the campus for a few years now in an admissions support position, so I am familiar with many of the rules and regulations by which the admissions team must abide by. I was not aware that the admission’s reps license must me showing at all times or that it is only good for a year and must be renewed annually.
I found the Resource Notebook to be a fantastic idea with a wealth of knowledge at my disposal at any time. I call it my bible, "it shows me the way and gives me concrete direction that's priceless". I've always enjoyed learning and being a part of workshops and training sessions, I miss that. When you've been in the business a while, sometimes people forget you can become outdated, if you're not sharp and on top of your profession. "TRAINING IS PARAMOUNT" AND BEING A PART OF MEETINGS THAT ARE RELEVANT TO KEEP YOU INFORMED ON WHAT'S GOING ON IN OYOUR SCHOOL.
The market that we serve ranges from 18-59 and older. They have worked, been in management, worked in various capacities as employees, and they are articulate and they expect when they sit in front of you, you are equipped to give them sound and solid answers and you're going to meet them where they are. Their questions will have depth and why shouldn't they expect answers that can be validated as well as examples, or placement responses. The more knowledgeable a representative becomes the more comfortable the prosepective student becomes and you've gained their respect as well as the credibility of your school.
Thank you for your interaction with me. I've seen your name in our catalog for years, it's nice to be able to respond to you, and have you interact with me. Again; I love learning, thank you for implementing this platform for communication.
We have placed information about all of our courses to explain in detail.
Detailed course information
I love this idea. I travel often as well and a flash drive is just perfect.
Our resource notebook includes our policies and procedures, our student handbook/catalog, our student enrollment agreement, our marketing plans and an organizational chart.
I now understand what "agent" really means and the difference between agent and Admissions. An agent includes anyone within the school who may be talking with perspective students.
I also now understand clearly that recruiting of students can not include those who are already enrolled in another institution.
I will not begin to fully organize and take advantage of my resource notebook and keeping it up to date as much as possible. I think learning about the laws and rules in the agent training was very beneficial. There had been numerous things I had questioned in the past but going through the laws and rules all my questions were answered.
I feel that creating a resource notbook is the best way to keep everything organized while being a new employee and receiving a bunch of info fast.
I am excited about the Resource Notebook. Having all of the information located in one area will truly allow me to review and stay up-to-date as needed.
I feel that making a Resource Notebook is a great tool to always go back and refer to any rules or information. Being a former college football coach, i notice alot of the same rules applied as well.
I've placed our calendar in my resource notebook. It's important to have this updated to ensure all information is current and up to date. Moreover in my campus this needs to be a best practice with all the new programs slated to begin in the new year.
The primary information that I placed in the Resource Notebook thatI was not aware of related to specific tuition and fees for various programs. Our programs require different equipment and technology and have some fees related specifically to certain areas of study.
I have placed all the current rules and regulations for the State of Ohio in my Resource book. I honestly did not know that as an Agent that you can work for more that one school. I thought you could only work and maintain an agent permit for just one school.
I am a new agent, so a lot of the rules and regulations, I was aware of from my supervisor who had informed me that I should look up the policies and procedures prior to taking this class.
As I am just getting started, I printed off the list of laws. They seem to be common sense for the most part. I am learning new things everyday. I guess I was suprised at how much must be disclosed to prospective students.
I have placed terms and definitions in my resource book. I think it is very important to know the specific terminolgy for Ohio. For instances I was not aware that conselour was a forbidden word because of what it may imply.
I have included the regulations provided by the OACCS as well as our nrollment agreement and school catolog. in the scholl catatlog I found that attendance policy is actually more leanient then what I had first believed.whwich, helps because now I know that if a student i enroll gets into a situation I can speak from an inlighten point of view.
I place the foolowing items in my resorce notebook:
rules and laws, definitions and terms, issuance of agent permits, disciplinary action involving agents, ethical code of conduct for agents, student enrollment ploicies and pratices, tuition and fees, refunds for books, fees, and supplies, scholarships & institutional grants, advertising & publicity, recruitment and solicitation of students, my school's catolog, organizational chart, fee & tuition info, name of accrediting agency.
I discovered that all proprietary schools do no have to be accredited. I found that very surprising.
I have placed all of the information on regulatory laws & rules into a 3-ring binder. This makes for an easy method to refer to the information. While I absolutely agree with the rule, I was not aware of the exclusion of certain criminal charges when applying for an agent permit. I think that this is a very important rule!
A resource notebook is great to have on hand. My resource notebook has our school catalog, enrollment agreements, student guidelines, and updated laws & regulations. Being new to admissions, this notebook has helped me tremendously.
