I think having a resource notebook is a great idea to keep the inportant information all in one locaton. This is also a place that if needed it would be easily accessed if asked where my resources are.
My notebook has notes from the department lectures, policies and regulations from both the company and state. I think it is a great tool that can help me when I need to find information quickly.
By creating a Resource Notebook i have a better understanding of the material covered by including the Laws/Regulations. One thing that i learned was the Reapplying for licensure and why it is important.
The resource notebook is a vital resource for me to stay in complience with the rules and regualtions. I have put a number of hard copies of information that was provided to me from my direct supervisor.
I Agree Sundeep, Reapplying for licensure ensures that the agent is up to date on rules and regulations as well as policy and procedures. I feel this will help me to grow and develop professionally.
The Resource Notebook acts a an easy reference guide for me and makes a great aid to stay within compliance. I have included in my notebook, The Regulation Laws/Rules, the catalog, and any addtional guidelines from my supervisors.
I have placed the Laws and Regulations from Module into my notebook. I will keep it in a place where I can refernce the material when needed.
Creating a notebook of resources allows me to have a hard copy of pertinant material to refernce. I actually didn't know that schools in other states that recruit Ohio students still need to recieve approval from the Ohio Board.
I agree. I think that having a very in depth notebook would be good to have in a file and having a quick reference guide somewhere handy to answer questions quickly.
I have realized that our main Booklet that we give to our students does not have everything that is required in a 'one-stop shop'. I have already spoken with my General Manager to have this updated. The Resource Notebook is awesome because again, you would only have to go to one place to get any information necessary. It will keep me extremely organized and confident when talking to prospective students!
In my "resource notebook" I have the school catalog, cirriculum outlines for the programs, a publication to show where recent graduates have been placed, scholarship applications, basic brochures and also a list to show to the potential student, some other their peers that have attended my school from their high school.
Most of the rules I had already been informed of, as being in the education field for a couple of years now. Although, I didn't know that I would have to go through this process because, I am not working for a school in Ohio but we do a little recruiting in the state. I am surprised that different states have such different licensure rules and regulations.
I thought the teachers would have to complete the agent training as well. But i guess because they are not soliciting or recruiting the students then they are not required to be liscensed.
In my notebook, I have placed information about who needs the training and how often the training is needed.
Ohio is a state with regulations that are incredibly important that any school needs to follow. This will be an important area for all admissions members to participate in.
The notebook will give us the opportunity to address the issue that come up that we may not remember.
Thanks for the refresher and the additional knowledge asessment.
Chieu,
I agree with you that the notebook is very important and difficult to remember everything.
Thanks for sharing.
So far, my Resource Notebook contains the Overview and Requirements of Agent Training Program and information for creating and using a Resource Notebook as well as directions to use it as a Reference Guide. I've also included Terms and Definitions as well as Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules.
Specific to my school, I have included: School Catalog, School Enrollment Agreement, Marketing Plans, Handbook, Organizational Chart and Directory.
I have learned more about Marketing Plans.
Gathering information for the Resource Notebook has made me more aware of where to go to access needed information.
I agree. A three ring binder with clear pocket pages makes it easy for students to see information and for us to be able to easily change and update the information on a timely basis.
I use the course info and curriculum in my resource notebook to show students exactly what courses they will be taking over the 8 quarters of their particular program both pre-requisite and major classes.
I was pleasantly surprised at the information I received in this module. I know this will be a useful tool in the future.
I STRONGLY BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO SHARE CLASS DESCRIPTION WITH PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF PREREQUISTIES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED.
I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST A 3-RING BINDER, SIMPLY BECAUSE I TRAVEL FOR OUR SCHOOL. I BELIEVE THE THE BINDER MAKES IT EASIER TO UPDATE ANY NEW INFORMATION. THE BINDER IS MORE MOBILE.
