This course contained loads of pertinent information that will definitely add to my success within the classroom. Although the information was quite extensive, it was valuable. I will revisit this module often as the suggestions were applicable to my classroom experiences. I can always improve upon the way I do things. Great course, thanks for allowing me to take it.
It was informative. I found I do some of the things suggested, but also learned others.
As a new instructor I found the information in ED 104 to be really helpful. Several weeks into the term I have experienced several of these issues with my students. I now know several tips on how to address these issues and I now feel more confident.
I found this section to be very helpful. It was a nice refresher. A good way to take into account various learning styles and incorporate them into classroom experience.
Many of the topics discussed in this course were review, but a good refresher. COnsidering the students perspectives, human nature, motivation and REFOCUS will help me to better evaluate where I am presently and where I can make improvements.
I just finished this module and being a new instructor I retrieved and retained so much from this course and so look forward to more online courses. I believe for myself that this module is a life experience and I am excited to return to work and put forth the new skills and support I have learned towards my instructing.
This course helped me evaluate my teaching methods. I will consider including lecture outlines next semester.
I believe vigorous excercise and daily to do lists are my best coping mechanisms. Last thing I do before sleep is write a list of things to accomplish the following day. I use a small 3" x 5" spiral pad stored at my nightstand and in the morning I take thelist off the pad and use it to plan my day. I am gradually being trained to use my cellphone instead of my pad by my son; however I still love my lists! And I am a believer in resistance training to keep healthy muscle tone and natural growth hormone… >>>
I felt that this course was very helpful in helping me to deal with on the job stress. The coping section was especially helpful and I appreciate all the feedback. I look forward to putting into practice many of the helpful hints that were given. I would encourage others to take this course.
I really enjoyed the section of the importance of learning students' names on the first day class. I was already knowledgeable of learning all students names. However, what I enjoyed about what was shared in this lesson was 1.) Having students to state their names and then say something specific and personal about them that they would feel comfortable sharing with classmates. 2.) Taking pictures of the class and label names for your own personal use if it's a large class. I'll try both of these technique during the fall because I have small and large classes and sometimes it's… >>>
I found this course very informative and useful. I particually enjoyed the 'games' that were within each module - they helped with the information as well as putting some fun into the lessons! I do this as much as possible in my classes and would welcome more ideas to develope more.
I just compleed this class and I have found it very helpful. It seems I have been using some extrinsic ideas all along such as rewards and certificates. I plan on using many more of these ideas in the future.
I somewhat enjoyed this module. I like the fact that it talks about enthusiasm and addressing different learning styles. The videos from Harvard Business School are GREAT. I wish it contained more of them. I KNOW there's more great material in there.
I just completed ED115 Softskills for instructors.Although nothing really new, it was presented very well...except I was told I didn't do 4 quizzes..but I didn't see ANY quizzes, only the Final test. Has anybody else taken this course???
How good are you in keeping up with technology in yourlearning environment? I mean letting students text you about being late toclass, collaborating on projects and posting assignments on site such as Googleor using YouTube and other websites in the classroom for learning benefits. Anddo you consider this to be a part of your professional growth and development?
Great course. Refresher on how the mind works during the learning process with great tips on teaching pedagogies.
Great online course. This course shows great examples in dealing with instructions. Highly recommended.
I believe daily reflection is key to my success. Writing thoughts down is essential and making changes. This has brought new ideas for me to use and I have. Constant improvement iis my goal
This course showed me a few new ways to look at teaching strategies. It also showed me why the strategies I have already been using were working. I never knew the technical names before.
This course allowed me to see things I been practicing in the classroom based on my experience. It also provided me with many pointers I can and will apply in my classrom environment from now on.
