Lesson Plan

When writing your lesson plan you want to be organize so if you are ill someone else will be able to step in and teach your class with ease.

TECHNOLOGY IN CLASS ROOM SMART PHONES

I TEACH CNC MACHINING IN A POST SECONDARY SCHOOL I ENCOURAGE MY STUDENTS TO USE THE CAMERA FEATURE ON THEIR PHONE TO RECORD SET-UPS CONTROL FEATURES FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

Getting Your Lesson Ready

you want to get yourself ready to teach the class so you can give the students practical information.

Teach and audience

I agree with knowing who are you audience and what to teach gives you a clear idea what to plan.

LESSON PLANNING AND TIME MANAGEMENT

My classes are 4 hours long. Keeping students interested is a real challenge because some students "get it" quickly and other not so easy. I can't move on until all understands so the ones that understand start getting bored . How do you plan for that?

video resources

There are so many possibilities of displaying video applications to the field of Anatomy & Physiology which is what I teach. It is almost impossible to teach what goes on metabolically through pictures, diagrams and text alone. Videos help convey these processies to students and are professionally produced. My students and I are very grateful to those who prvide this opportunity. Both Art and Technology merge.

Time Management

As a way to keep you on time, be flexible and ready to spend some time on the subject at the next meeting. Make sure there are worksheets to help the students self evaluate if you have extra time. Be prepared to show a video or animation that goes along with the class if you find that you have extra time.

keeping students inform

It is critical to have students up to date on their progress. Returning graded exams within a day is highly appreciated by students and also a best practice.

Using pre-test

In adult education, it is critical that students are given some type of pre- assessment. Adult students come with background education and knowledge and instructors should acknowledge it as much possible in order to keep them engage.

media

Although it can be very time consuming, using media in the classroom is very effective.

guest

Having guest come into the classroom is very exciting to students. Consider bringing someone who can teach a particular content better than you can, it makes a great difference

Compromise

One of the more challenging concepts in the classroom for me is tailoring information that makes it easier for the students to grasp but does not compromise the integrity of the career field. When moving across different courses and concepts this can be difficult, especially when looking for a new way to provide the information and keep it relevant.

White Board Connections

I found the discussion about utilizing the white board applicable to my current class design. Although I do use the board to highlight points or to rely upcoming assignments, I have not used the board to add information provided by students to connect with subject areas that are being presented. I really like the idea of this application and plan on using during my class.

Taking Notes

The information provided so far in this section has been useful, especially the breakdown of instructor types. The suggestion and I liked the most and plan on using was writing down personal classroom experience after each class. I believe this method will create a better learning environment for my students by allowing me to revisit past lesson plans and adapt them to the current student body or just make a lecture flow better

Being prepared but planning for demo's

I haven't seen any discussion on demonstration planning as a means to get the student to get excited, and to learn pipeline. Is this because of the perception that a Demo is typically done real-time and may create a perception of disorganization?? Personally I teach a few classes where step by step, tutorial, or demo is crucial to picking up real-world pipelines. What are the thoughts on this?

Lesson plans

I'm not the best at this but keep trying to not have too much that my classes doesn't go over time.

Support materials

Its challenging to always use enough support materials. I try but have hopes of using professionals more to give the students more real world feedback.

Survey Monkey

This is a pretty cool website that you can use with your students in class to gauge their opinion on a particular topic in real time.

retaking test

never give the same test out due to other students sharing info.

reingaging students

students get tired and bored having a sencond back up plan can hep engage them in the material
