Stategic Goals

I would like to learn more on the objectives of organization for the short and long term goal settings.

needing advancement

How can you recommend your own need for advancement with in the company?

Training

If we do not properly train employees/Instructors, how do we expect them to teach properly in the classroom. An effective instructor is much more than just a dynamic person. An effective instructor must also have the proper tools to communicate with all the students in all forms of learning (VAK).

When to ask for any permission to your Boss?

Your boss is very unpredictable. How can I ask for a day off, especially on a very busy day.

Changes

This was a great subject. This type of dicussion works for large business as well as small business. If more managers and owners take this type of approch in making changes, maybe they would hold onto great employees.

stress managment

Stress is a natural way of response to external and internal factors that affect us on a daily basis however it is very subjective, what may seem stressful to me may not be stressful to others, the way we deal with stress can be managed by following basic steps: relaxtion, stay physically and mentally active.

Making a Change

I have been working in for a great company for almost 7 years, teaching, then being a program director and now an Associate Dean, but it is not until now that I am beginning to feel disatisfaction in my job. Mostly because my job is putting out fires and my passion lies in teaching, development and creation. I would hate to move back down and I love my company. Any ideas for where to look next?

Goal Setting

I believe without goals we have no direction. In other words, no meaning, what are we attempting to accomplish and what results are we looking for. Goal setting helps us strive for success by using a method or path to get there and accomplish our goals.

Team work

I have experienced the benefit of team work and delegation working miracles to increase time efficiency. Simple things like helping each other when we need copies and having them pre-prepared help time efficiency in the long run so much.

Venting Stress and Meditation

I have found venting is good for letting go of stress. I have also found that venting to that same trusted person when stress is happening frequently can become overwhelming if done too often. Meditation is a good balance when stress is high and it is a good practice for me to do both. In other words there are many ways to relieve stress, some work better than others and its best not to rely on only one type of stress relief. Does anyone have problems with finding what actually works or do people find certian activities only delay the stress? Can someone else give evidence to support that view?

doing time.

We must know how to do the correct amount of work for the time we are given. Once we figure out that part then we can understand how to manage the time better.

Goal Setting

Though I do not have employees, my career college students can be thought of as employees and this information on goal setting can be very useful. The SMART approach offers a realistic approach to creating and following though on goals. I find that many adult students do not have the time to sit down and set goals, so I plan to utilize the worksheets as an assignment so they are able to begin setting goals.

Job vs life stresses

Got any time management tips for coming up with the best balance between your work and your personal life?

Dealing with Stress

I prefer to write. I keep a journal where I write about all major events of my life, good or bad. Being able to look back and see what helped me before, what friends can handle certain things really helps me. Plus it helps me learn about myself, what triggers stress for me. When you write about it you can find the patterns and make the right changes.

Stress assessments

I found the Worry Self Assessment, the Life Changes as stressors check list and the Workplace Stress assessment to be very informative. I really feel I benefited from my assessments.

Time Management

I will share this with a friend who is having problems managing her time effectively. Hopefully, she will realize how are issue is impacting others.

Leader not Manager

how many of you remember those managers who were just that...a manager. "Do as I say, not as I do!" Contrary to popular belief you can be both. Enbrace the leadership, then manager the platform you showed to be great.

Stress Management

Some good points about postive and negative stress. I liked the fact that the course presented some strategies to help reduce negative stress that would be easy to follow.

Stress Management

I really try desperately to prevent myself from being so stressed out. I suffer from high blood pressure and have learned to take things in stride. I watch what I eat and take walks. this helps a great deal. I agree to being positive this seems to help the students and myself. enjoyed this training course. very very helpful to me.
