self inflicted pressure

When taking the assessment I knew the material quite well however, I was constantly interrupted and thus continued to score low. The more I took it and the more times my scores came back less than what I thought it was, the more I pressed to get them all correct. The last time I took the exam, I got them all correct because I enabled myself to not analyze but to just answer the question. Leasson learned, stress is self inflicted.

What Can be done to create the right ammount of stress

What could I do to create the right ammount of stress to a group off people? Some who are too stressed about up comming deadlines, and some who arent taking them seriously enough. An Example would be in a class of studnets all with lives outside teh instructional bubble. Some of them see the tasks at hand as a challenge and face it head on with the right ammount of stress. Others anticipate not getting everything accomplished in the time provided and that adds to their stress level sometimes unhealthy levels. and on the opposite end soem jsut dont seem to care and go about teh tasks as if there were no deadline regaurdless of consiquences. Without separating the class and talking to everyone individually what can be done in the group as a whole?

Happiness

Happiness is when you feel content with most everything you do in your life. When you can help those around you achieve their goals and bring happiness to others though humor, when it seems that there is nothing to be happy about. Sometimes this can be hard to do. I just try to do the best I can everyday and then let it go.

The importance of goal setting

I really believe that it is important to set goals. When you set goal it give you something to work towards and when you achieve your goals it should be treated as an accomplishment. Without setting goals I have no drive or motivation to complete some of my tasks, but when I set goals and have a time frame I know that they have to be completed by a certain time.

Age, Priority Adjustment, and Stress

It seems the older I am and more comfortable in life I become, all stress factors are reduced. I've also found that adjusting my priorities and relying on my faith contribute greatly to reducing, minimizing and nearly eliminating stress in the workplace.

Involving others to help handle stress

I think one of the most important things for me is to involve my wife in my day to day activities with work. I find it's helpful to verbalize what I'm going through at work and to receive feedback from her that may help manage my stress. We work through our stresses in our personal life together also.

Take time alone and breathe

A lot of times at work, I am constantly around people especially since my office is in a student lab. Sometimes when I am filling like I can't stand to hear another word from someone, I go to the bathroom or my car and just close my eyes and concentrate on just breathing for a minute or two. It does wonders for me.

Ethical Remider

I think that this topic was worthy of review. The examples it used were not as blatant as corporate corruption, disciminatory procedures, or various other illegal/unethical acts. By discussing such managment aspects of leaving early, setting positive examples, lies of omission and even setting specific goals, this course reminded the learner that one should be cognisant of ALL their actions.

Training is vital

I feel having an effective training for each individual not only better prepares them for their job responsibilities, but it also is a way to show you are investing in their career development. When an employee sees that, they are much more aware that you want them to do well and care about their progress.
