Credits

The student may have to provide transcripts of the courses they want approved for credit. There may be certain grade point average requirements. The institution transferred from may have to be accredited, plus there will probably be other requirements. Sometimes there is a maximum number of credits that can be transferred in. Some institutions accept life experience credit. Acceptance of this credit typically requires submission and review of paperwork proving that the applicant's life experience equals so many hours of coursework.

Programs

There is a lot to know about each training program offered at your institution. For this reason it is a good idea to sit in on a class or two. This will help you to understand, from the student's perspective, what attending your institution is all about and the specifics about each program

Requirements

Admissions requirements must be clearly stated in your catalog and other documents that students receive. The admissions requirements must follow the rules as outlined in the Statutes and Rules documents.

Trnsfer of credits

Transfer of credits depend on your school and if the new institution your transfering too if they will accept them.

Advertising

There are many way to learn about the diffent program in your school. Newspapaers, ads, brochures are some of the ways.

Enrollment Agreement

The enrollment agreement is a binding contract between the student and the school.

Resource Notebook

The resource note book is a veru important tool to have with you at all times.

Non Accredited vs Accredited Financial Assistance

My understanding is that some non-accredited Institutions offer financial assistance such as Veterans of Foreign War and Vocational Rehabilitation. If Accreditation gives an Institution access to Federal funding programs through an accrediting agency, what are the details surrounding that funding?

Paper Work!!

Paper work is the boring part of the job but very necessary! Our school has folders already put together with all the necessary documents in it. When a student is ready to enroll we can easily review each document and stay organized

Up to Date and Compliant

I think that it is great that there are so many tools and resources to gather this information that we need to assist us in effectively doing our jobs. I Love how the information is divided into sections and the definitions are spelled out.

Financial Aid is your Friend

Of course it is very important to know and get along well with all of your co workers, however Financial Aid is your friend at least where we are at. She works with us hand and hand to asist the students in discovering what they qualify for and encourages them to better their future, she is very through and knows how to comfort them if they are nervous or having any doubts.

That sure is a lot of information to take in, I am glad that we are asked to make a notebook with this pertinent information in it. I know this will certainly assist me with my interviews with students.

The Phone is a very important tool for your interviews.
