Some terms and definitions commonly used during the admission process at my institution include: Enrollment Agreement- Defined as a legal binding contract between a new student, and our institution which lists all requirements for the successful completion of the degree program. It also discloses important policies, terms and conditions of the agreement. The Enrollment Agreement must be signed by each new student, and the signature represents the student's acknowledgment of the agreement.

Another frequently used term is Accreditation: Students very frequently ask questions pertaining to the institution Accreditation or Accrediting Agency. These are defined generally as regional, national, or programmatic accreditation.

I have placed all required and necessary paperwork in my resource notebook. I feel this is a great tool to keep an individual updated, and used as a reference to provide the best service available to all participating parties.

The Resource Notebook is a great tool to have as you can easily access information to give to prospective student and answer. It is difficult to remember all terms and definition, institution policies and procedures, enrollment agreement and marketing materials. Although overwhelming!! What I have discovered detail information about rules and regulations pertaining to Title IV. The institution has this information available for staff and particularly outside agent to ensure that we are staying in compliance.

This course gives us the information on how to setup the Notebook. Its important to keep the notebook updated regularly, since rules are frequently changing. I think the Notebook is an absolute necessity and all employees regardless of their position should have one.

Terminolgy has definetly changed.

A lead in know a inquiry. We take applications not enrollments. A Start is now called New student caseload.

What was once an interview is now a Career Planning Session. We are looking for a Support Network not a buying committee. We don't use the 'take away' but, need to get a final commitment.

We no longer have BUDGET but, a GOAL.

In addition we are required to follow scripts from the initial fact finding inquiry call through the entire career planning session.

Thanks.

I definetly agree that the Resource Notebook is a great tool for those who have worked in the industry for years and for new representatives aswell. I like having the information at my fingertips when questions I can't answer are thrown at me during a career planning session. When I started in this field, I picked the brains of the 'old-timers' and created my own!!! Helped me to always be at the top of my game.

Some of the terms that are used in my institution are Programs, Title 1V funding and Enrollment Agreement.

Some of the terms we use are Institution, which means us, the school.
Accreditation, when we advise our prospective students that our school is nationally accredited, allowing us to offer financia aid to those who qualify.
Another term we use often is Program, when we explain to the student what we offer as far as career programs.

Everything should be placed in the Resource Notebook. This is a very significant folder that should be used as a tool when meeting with your prospective student. In addition, it shows that you are prepare and demonstrates consistency and completeness.
I discovered changes to the rules and regulations that must be follow.

Our learning institution uses many terms and definitions during the admission process when prospecting students such as; the accreditation type. The institution that I work for is a regionally accredited school and it is explained how is a volunteer membership in which acts as gatekeepers for federal funding title IV if approved by US department of Education. We also use enrollment agreement, description of program /curriculum, scholarships amongst other term commonly used by representatives of the learning institution.

Some of the common terms and definitions used during the admissions process include, but are definitely not limited to, title IV, Enrollment Agreement, admissions process, condition of admission, financial aid, grants and loans, regional accreditation, military funding, tuition and resource fees, etc.

I completely agree. Understadning the meaning of terms allows you to effectively communicate.
