Anthony,
Excellent posting on your definitions.
I have information in my Resource Notebook about proper admission,I learned that there are a lot of standard rules that need to be followed
We have a notebook with a catalog, career wheels and graduate employement information, but it'll be great to add the statues as well as the rest of the information in this training. It might be a good idea to have a designated employee keep on top of the changing statues so that everyone at our school is on the same page.
In the resource handbook that I have created, I've inserted materials that I believe will be beneficiall and allow to stay in compliance with the guidlines of the company as well as the state. I have placed a catolog in which I have gone through and highlighted key points throughout, also a contact list for my company and printed out the rules and statues, for reference purposes. I have been in the industry for quite some time now, about 8 years and I have been quite familiar with most of the rules and statues, as of now I haven't run across anything that I was unfamiliar with. As for my institution I am still learning about the instution so the jury is still out on what I don't know about the institution.

I was unaware of a specific commission that protects Florida consumers with regulartory oversight to private post-secondary institutions that operate in Florida... Is there a similar commission for NON-private post-secondary isntitutions?
Accrediting Agency - an agency that acts as a "gatekeeper" for federal funding programs that have been recognized & approved by the DOE.

Some of the terms that are used in the admissions process along with the definitions are Application and Program.

Good info about the admissions processes overall. The questions were not overly comlicated.
This is a nice resource to have at my disposal; it is helpful to have other orginizations definitions at hand in order to spur ideas & new recruitment practices.

During the admissions process we often use terms like accreditation, enrollment agreement, and program. We let our students know that we are an accredited institution and who we recive that accreditation from. We explain to them what the enrollment agreement is and that it provides them with the important policies of the school. We give them knowledge of our programs and how they would progress through any specific one they choose.
Enrollment Agreement - Legal binding contract that is signed by applicant/student.
Accreditation - Agencies that provide membership for institution and act as gate keepers for federal funding
I've gone thru step by step, have also checked out some links, and I can see how useful this resource notebook is going to be.
I have placed all the statues information, and have more importantly kept it up to date , so that the students are getting the same information , and the most accurate. it's something that everyone uses on a regular basis.
