Accreditation, enrollment agreement, program, scholarship, Title IV
I have done the same thing. It is a quick reference guide.
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process at our institution are:
Transfer of credit - the ability to transfer courses already taken at other institutions in to our location or transfer classes taken at our institution to others.
Accreditation - credentials obtained by the institution to award degrees offered.
Course offerings - classes offered at the institution.
Financial aid - resources available to the students to assist with covering the cost of their tuition, books and fees, etc.
FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
AT my insitution we talk about accreditation and let our prospective students know that we are nationally accredited by the ACICS- Accrediting council for independent colleges and schools
Some of the terms we use daily are: Representative, Enrollment agreement, Financial Aid Counselor, Financial Aid, scholarships, Pell Grant, tuition, etc.
That's a great tip. Printed material can fall behind pretty quickly. A web newsletter will help with updates.
I've added the printed information from the links provided at the beginning of this section. It's alot of valuable information and having a notebook on hand will help a great deal.
Accreditation - We are accreditited by ABHES - The Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools
Marketing - We use radio ads, the local magazines, job fairs, and the internet to market our school.
Title IV funding - We do offer Title IV funding to students if they qualify - it depends on the student. Some of our programs are cash pay programs where the tuition is less, so title IV funding is not available.
We offer many diploma programs like medical assisting, medical billing and coding, medical office assistant, phlebotomy, home health aid, massage therapy, and EKG tech.
Tammy,
Organize the material the best way suited for you.
Tammy,
Yes, that is a condition that is claimed in the catalog. Students need to have contact information for the regulatory body.
Oscar,
Excellent! You are making the notebook your own.
Kevin,
Interesting how schools call it different things.
Maria,
We cannot guarantee employment but offer placement assistance.
Ronald,
Excellent. Thank you for your post.
Elise,
Add any additional material that will aid you in your daily activities.
Aimee,
You are off to a great start. Keep up the good work.
We use the following terms/definitions on a daily basis: Enrollment, Enrollment Agreement, Program, Scholarship, and Accreditation.
I'm actually adding bit by bit as I go since I just started this. I need to get some materials from my supervisor, but I do have the Handbook for the school electronically already which is changed all the time, and it's sent out to all my students after enrollment. All the information is helpful here.
I printed out all the recommended info from the course. I will also add info from my institution and other sources as I go.
We tell students that we do not guarantee that they will find a job but the career service department will help searching for jobs.
