Enrollment: Registering a student to take programs or courses at an institution when such registration obligates the student to pay tuition to the institution to provide instruction to the student.
Enrollment Agreement: a legally binding contract that is signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution. This contract forms the agreement to terms of the enrollment and provides disclosures which inform consumers of important policies of the institution, which their signature indicates acknowledgement of.
I have placed the first pages from the course that I printed out, a printed copy of ITT's catalog, and ITT's student handbook. As I am a new admissions representative, everything that I am learning is new and very important for me to absorb.
Some information placed in the Resource Notebook are:
School Catalog with Programs, Fees, accrediting agency, organization Chart, and admission requirements and the Enrollment Agreement. The refund policy is included in the Institution catalog and enrollment aggement.
The definitions and Terms really allow us all to be on the same page within the Institution. These terms and definitions should help all faculty, staff and students.
I printed out all the terms and definitions along with a course catalog. I found marketing flyers and mailing media to include in the Resource Notebook. I have sent emails and will visit with faculty and staff to get more information to include.
It was interesting to findout about "agents" and how they differ. Also, in reading through the catalog I was able to see a breakdown of course work and see what is expected of our students.
During the admission process at my institution, we use terms such as "School Catalog" which is readily available on our website for everyone to access, browse and download. Since it provides specific information on all our policies and procedures, it is very important to go over its content with the students. Moreover, we go over other terms like "Accreditation" by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and “Enrollment Agreement" which is the legally binding contract between the student and our school and breaks down all necessary information regarding tuition, cancellation, refunds and more.
Conduct - this is when you meet with a prospective student and conduct an interview.
Seminar - I personally conduct seminars for the nursing program to inform the prospective students of the requirements that need to be met in order to be accepted into the nursing program at my school.
FA Overview - this refers to the process of a financial aid coordinator meeting with the student and going over what they will need for their Financial Aid Appointment.
The following terms are used by the institution I work:. Enrollment Agreement-A legally binding contract that is signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution.

Some of the terms that and definations that are commonly used during the admissions process at my institution are:

The resource Notebook of the school includes all the given materials, such as the enrollment agreement, the school catalog, the student handbook, the employee manual, the list of faculty and administrative staff, the program outline, advertisement, library resource and other materials. However, we did not include the Florida Administrative Code. I intend to do so, once I finish with the training today. Thank you.
Having a stronger reference list to gather information.
When it comes to the admission process at the institute we explain to the prospective student what our catalog states and what the enrollment agreement represents and states.
Some terms and definition commonly used during the admission process at my institute are; Accreditation, to ensure that students are familiar with the acrediting body. Also, enrollment & enrollment agreement so that each student know what they are getting themselves into.
The resource notebook proves to be a valuable tool. By adding the terms and definitions along with other research items, allows for a better understanding of procedures and helps in problem solving.
Advertising is an often used term in my institution. People tend to comment that they did not know the location of our school due to the positioning of our advertisement on the building.
I suppose that many terms are common throughout our industry; however, some that we have that may be unique include the following:
"Conduct" - The initial, first-time meeting with a prospective student to learn about their interests and goals, present them with information about our institution and programs of study, and to make an initial assessment of their eligibility to enroll.
"Handed-off" - A term used to describe a prospective student who has completed the enrollment process and been accepted into their program of study. This process makes their information available to other departments (Financial Aid, Registrar, etc.) in our student tracking database so that they can continue with the additional steps in the admission process.
I agree that the resource notebook is a great tool. It is a great tool for a new employee. It also helps as a reminder as we update the notebook. It is useful to keep individual School or Corporate rules, regulations and compliance information.
We also have a policies and procedures manual that I have a hard copy of in the admissions office as well as an electronic copy on my desk top. I will be sure to add all of the information from this course as well as the monthly updates from the Florida Commission for Independent Education Website.
the terms and definitions should be placed in your notebook.information about your institution. I did'nt no that you have to have all of this information it was very informative
