Knowing the role of each department helps admission reps explain to students how we can help them achirve their goals. Educating a student is a team effort and is up to the admission rep to explain the student how we are going to help him/her in each step to graduation and the trasition into the labor force.

Jennifer,
Finance options and financial aid are very complex topics. If your school provide financial aid options, it is often discussed by the experts with the students.

Luis,
There is always something new to learn in a very dynamic environment. Seek out new opportunities to learn more.

Madeline ,
A great idea! Mixing with the student and talking about their experience will certainly get you a stronger perspective. It can also be a way to get referrals for people they know.

Irais,
Keep on learning! The time you spend developing your institutional knowledge will pay off greatly.

Nick,

Congratulations on your success! You have a unique perspective within your institution.

Diana,
There is always something new to learn in each department. Product knowledge is a huge part of admissions preparedness.

I feel very knowledgable about the admissions process and the academics. I still have some to learn about finance, though.

I know everything. I think that moment that you are employed by an institution, you want to be familiar with every aspect of the organization you are representing. Not only to be better prepared to assist anyone but to be ready for whatever lies ahead.

I find that the more I read about my Institution, the more knowledge I gain concerning the duration of the programs. I have also learned a lot by actually interacting during my lunch break with the students. I've asked them questions like how are you enjoying your classes and I have learned many great positive things about the professors. I know that most of the students that I have spoken with are really enjoying the programs they have enrolled in. I've learned the function of each department. I believe it is important to learn and gather as much information about the institution because not only does it better my job performance, however it also allows me to enjoy my job knowing that I can better and promote the College by helping the Students when they call for information.

I rate my knowledge very highly. I have taken my time to get to know the programs that we offer and what my Institution is about.

Patty,

As a graduate of this college I have a unique perspective from both the interview side as a prospect student and the educational experience as an enrolled student and then graduate.

I would rate my experiential knowledge as excellent. The interview process was informative. The Director of Admissions fully described the education I would receive and the expectation I should have in being prepared for a career in the industry after graduation.

As I am in training for a position as a Director of Admissions I am Discovering that there is much more to learn 'behind the scenes,' specifically the administrative process and compliance to Fair Consumer Practices by the Florida Commission for Independent Education.

Thank you for your review.

Nick

Being with my institution for a while, I have been able to explore multiple departments. I feel quipped to speak about responsibilites and requirements of each department. I found a great wy to learn is by shadowing people that have key roles in these department to learn the intricacies of each department. There is always more to learn.

Charese,

The more we know about our institution, the better we are able to serve our students. Learning the different people and their roles is a great step forward.

Jennifer ,
Questions do promote learning and knowledge. We should all promote questions and provide effective communication techniques to foster further understanding.

I have been with the University for six years and through my time here I have learned about through job shadowing and continous trainings. In my training I have learned more about finainial aid processes including overlapping loans, academic affairs role with our faculty and, academic requirements for graduation.

I know a great deal about my institution; however, there are always things that are changing. If a student has a question and I'm not 100% sure on the answer I will use my resournces (ie: manager, director, college chair, etc) to confirm the answer before discussing with the student. It is very important to know everything you can about your instution and to not be afraid of asking questions. Every questions asked deepends ones knowledge and they are able to gain a better understanding. In addition, it is important to have a culture where there is cross-department conversations and training opportunities. Although one person might not be able to implement everything it is important to know what goes on in other departments because that better aids the student rather than passing them around to different people.

MARIE ROSE,

Our schools have a very important role in our community and we should be active in many ways to keep that relationship strong.

MY INSTITUTION IS PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. NOW I HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE HOW TO HANDLE ADMISSION PROCESS AND MOSTLY EVERYTHING THAT IS REQUIRED FOR MY POSITION . THIS MODULE IS VERY HELPFUL TO ME ,AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS TO THE PUBLIC.

Kerrie,
It is always better to say let's find out than to give misleading or incorrect information.
